A free to play fantasy pirate MMORPG where you choose one of four classes, assign your own stats, learn skills, hunt rare loot, forge gems into gear and enter timed dungeons with other players. Every advantage is earned through play, with no power for sale.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

About
Pirate Royalty is a free to play fantasy MMORPG where progress comes from playing the game. The shop sells cosmetics only. It will not sell stronger equipment, extra combat power or a way to avoid the work that every other pirate must put in. Your class, skills, equipment and reputation are earned on the island.
For years, four pirate factions fought across the lands and seas for territory, treasure and power. Their rivalries became so bitter that even the warning signs of a greater disaster could not persuade them to stand together. Rena “The Banished” Clifton tried to warn them, but few were willing to listen.
Then the hurricane came.
Compasses lied, sails turned against their crews and ships from rival factions were drawn towards the same point in the ocean. Rena saved as many pirates as her small fleet could carry before the storm forced them onto an unfamiliar island and shattered the remaining ships along the shore.
The survivors named her Pirate Queen, a title she never asked for and does not fully trust. Now their survival depends on whether old enemies can live beneath the same crown. As one of Rena’s trusted people, you will help hold the island together, earn the loyalty of its divided factions and uncover why the hurricane brought them all here.
Choose your class early in the opening journey, before you begin assigning stat points. Become a Nautical Bandit and defend your crew from the front. Track enemies and strike from a distance as an Ocean Scout. Draw magic from the ocean as a Pirate Mage, or keep your allies standing through the strange remedies of an Acolyte.
At level 9, your path is no longer waiting to be chosen. It is waiting to be tested. Each class faces its own trial, built around the qualities its members are expected to carry into the battles ahead. Completing it proves that you have grown beyond your early training and earned recognition among those who already bear your class title.
Your statistics are not assigned for you. Each level gives you points to spend, while skill books and branching skill trees allow you to develop your class further. Pirates who begin with the same training may become very different by the time the island is finished with them.
Equipment rolls with different values, which means a common weapon and an exceptional one may look alike until you examine what you have found. The finest rolls are rare enough to matter, and every creature, boss and dungeon offers another chance to find something better.
The Forge allows you to open sockets, combine matching gems and place their power into your equipment. Each successful combination creates a stronger gem, but success becomes less likely as its level rises. A forged weapon carries the colour of its gem, allowing other players to see what you risked to make it.
The Blackwater Buccaneers deal in magical artefacts while questioning the forces Rena claims are at work. The Ledgers guard old knowledge, permits and political ambitions. The Stormclaws are respected hunters who have not forgotten that they once banished Rena. The Fairwinds believe in open trade, though their most valuable technology remains carefully hidden.
Travel through salt worn ruins, forests, stone thresholds and the darker places beneath the island. Marked quests and a guidance orb can lead you towards your next task, but not every secret is waiting beside the safest route.
Dungeon portals open on a schedule and warn the whole server before they appear. Gather a party, enter while there is still time and survive the waves waiting inside. Party members share kill and quest experience, players can trade directly with one another, and Local, World and Trade chat keep the island connected.
Rena kept these pirates alive through the storm. Whether they remain together is another matter.
Choose your path, earn your place and find out what the island wants from you.
