Phantom Tentacle is an unconventional indie adventure with RPG and stealth elements developed and published by LSP GAME. Built around a supernatural premise, the game places players in control of a mysterious ghostly tentacle creature that has escaped imprisonment and returned to spread fear throughout a secluded town. Instead of portraying a traditional heroic journey, the game embraces an unusual role reversal by casting the player as the lurking menace. Its combination of stealth mechanics, environmental puzzles, anime-inspired artwork, and mature themes creates an experience that stands apart from more conventional indie adventures, offering a distinctive blend of suspense, strategy, and dark fantasy. The gameplay revolves around carefully stalking the town's inhabitants while avoiding detection from armored knights that patrol the area. Rather than relying on direct combat, players must study enemy movements, exploit blind spots, and determine the safest opportunities to capture their targets. This emphasis on patience makes every encounter feel like a tactical puzzle instead of a straightforward action sequence. Each successful objective requires observation and careful execution, rewarding players who take the time to understand patrol routes and environmental layouts. Although the mechanics are relatively simple to learn, the game consistently challenges players to think ahead and adapt to changing situations, preventing the experience from becoming repetitive. Progression is divided across several distinct locations, each introducing new environmental hazards and different opportunities for stealth. The level design encourages exploration without becoming overwhelming, offering compact yet thoughtfully constructed maps that support the game's slow-paced approach. As players advance, they encounter increasingly complex situations that require more precise timing and better planning. Rather than overwhelming players with constant action, Phantom Tentacle gradually expands its mechanics, allowing the challenge to build naturally while maintaining a steady sense of progression from beginning to end. Visually, the game adopts a colorful anime-inspired presentation that contrasts nicely with its darker supernatural storyline. Character portraits and environmental artwork possess a stylized charm that gives the game its own recognizable identity despite its modest production scale. The top-down perspective complements the stealth gameplay by providing players with clear visibility of enemy positions and movement patterns, making strategic planning both intuitive and satisfying. While the graphics do not aim for technical realism, the artistic direction succeeds in creating a memorable atmosphere that supports both the eerie premise and the lighter visual aesthetic. The narrative itself remains relatively straightforward, focusing on the return of the ghostly entity and its influence over the isolated town. Rather than presenting an elaborate plot filled with numerous twists, the story serves primarily as motivation for the gameplay while establishing the supernatural setting. The pacing keeps the adventure moving without excessive dialogue, allowing players to remain engaged with exploration and stealth. Although character development is fairly limited, the unusual premise and bizarre protagonist help give the game enough personality to remain interesting throughout its relatively short campaign. Mature content is present throughout the experience, as the game includes suggestive themes, partial nudity, coarse language, and adult-oriented imagery involving fictional adult characters. However, these elements function more as part of the game's atmosphere than as its primary focus. The stealth gameplay, exploration, and puzzle-solving remain the central attractions, while the mature presentation simply reinforces the game's niche identity. Players interested in unconventional indie titles will likely appreciate this balance, though those uncomfortable with adult themes should be aware of the content before playing. From a technical perspective, Phantom Tentacle keeps its system requirements modest, making it accessible to a broad range of PC users. Its lightweight design allows it to perform smoothly without requiring modern high-end hardware, ensuring that the focus remains on gameplay rather than graphical spectacle. Controls are responsive, performance is stable, and the game's concise structure makes it easy to complete over a handful of play sessions without feeling unnecessarily stretched. Overall, Phantom Tentacle delivers an experience that succeeds by embracing originality instead of following familiar genre conventions. Its combination of stealth gameplay, puzzle-oriented objectives, supernatural storytelling, and distinctive visual style creates an adventure that feels refreshingly different within the indie landscape. While its niche subject matter, relatively brief campaign, and simple mechanics may not appeal to every player, those seeking an unusual stealth adventure with creative ideas will likely find plenty to enjoy. It may not redefine the genre, but it confidently delivers a memorable and entertaining experience built around a premise rarely explored in modern games. Rating: 8/10

This is... pretty bad. The translation is barely english, the dialog scripts are broken, the save states don't work, the stealth is wildly unbalanced and glitches to be permanently on... I got to a certain point and the game wouldn't progress despite doing everything right. I'll change my reviewe if this gets fixed... but considering the age of this game, I doubt it.
