“Can you give me your blood? If I drink it, I can do something for you.”
Felix Cole, A patissier crafting sweet desserts (CV. Ryu Seung-gon)

Make Chinese and English speaker feel at home: Bilingual Curator
A very 'classic' (aka troupey) VN, nothing new or interesting here Pros -Vampires hell yeah -Can get good and bad endings for each route. Cons -80% common route where the last chapter branches off for the character with the most affection (you have to skip through the common route to repeat all the choices) -3 branches, this page implies there are 4 -The art style isn't my favourite, looks a bit off. -Characters are troupey -Doesn't explain the vampire lore -Sometimes it glitches and puts the wrong face on the body, so it's not in the right place, that was pretty funny Just a bit boring innit
Phantom of the Twilight is a story-driven otome visual novel developed by Lumiere Entertainment Inc. and published by Smilegate. Set within an alternate Victorian-era London where scientific progress exists alongside supernatural forces, the game combines romance, mystery, and fantasy into a narrative that is both elegant and suspenseful. Rather than focusing exclusively on romantic relationships, the story places players at the center of a murder investigation that gradually uncovers secrets hidden beneath the city's refined appearance. The plot follows Lucy Lindere, a young noblewoman whose peaceful life is disrupted when a trusted maid is found murdered under mysterious circumstances. Refusing to accept the tragedy without answers, Lucy begins her own investigation with the help of several companions, each possessing unique personalities and motivations. Among them are a devoted vampire butler, a determined detective, and an intelligent professor whose expertise proves invaluable as the mystery deepens. Their involvement transforms what begins as a personal search for truth into a much larger conspiracy filled with danger, intrigue, and emotional conflict. One of the game's greatest strengths is its atmosphere. The Victorian-inspired setting is beautifully suited to the themes of mystery and supernatural romance. Elegant mansions, dimly lit streets, and hidden secrets create a world that feels both charming and unsettling. The contrast between technological advancement and ancient supernatural forces gives the narrative a distinctive identity. Every location contributes to a sense of immersion, allowing players to become fully invested in the world and its mysteries. The character cast is another highlight. Each romantic interest is more than a simple love interest, offering their own perspective on the central mystery while possessing personal struggles and secrets. Their relationships with Lucy develop gradually through player choices, making emotional moments feel earned rather than forced. The vampire butler stands out as a particularly memorable figure due to his loyalty and complex connection to the protagonist, while the other routes provide alternative perspectives that expand the story's larger narrative. Exploring multiple paths reveals new details and helps create a more complete understanding of the world. As expected from a visual novel, storytelling serves as the primary focus. Dialogue is well-paced, balancing romantic interactions with investigative sequences and dramatic revelations. The mystery element adds a sense of urgency that keeps the story moving forward, preventing the experience from becoming solely a romance-driven adventure. While some scenes dedicate significant time to explaining the world's lore and history, these details ultimately strengthen the setting and provide context for the supernatural events unfolding throughout the narrative. Presentation quality is consistently impressive. Character artwork is detailed and expressive, while special illustrations during key moments help emphasize emotional and dramatic scenes. Voice acting adds personality and depth to the cast, making interactions feel more engaging. The soundtrack complements both the romantic and suspenseful aspects of the story, shifting naturally between gentle melodies and more ominous compositions depending on the situation. Together, these elements create a polished visual novel experience that remains visually appealing from beginning to end. Gameplay mechanics are relatively straightforward, focusing on reading, decision-making, and route progression. Players influence the direction of the story through choices that affect relationships and determine which ending they receive. Multiple story routes and endings provide a good amount of replay value, encouraging players to revisit the game to uncover every character's perspective and reveal additional narrative details. Features such as galleries and unlockable content further reward those who invest time into exploring all available paths. The game is not entirely without flaws. Players seeking extensive gameplay systems or interactive mechanics may find the experience limited due to its visual novel structure. Some plot developments draw upon familiar themes found in gothic romance and vampire fiction, which may feel predictable to genre veterans. Additionally, certain routes deliver stronger emotional and narrative payoffs than others. However, these shortcomings do little to diminish the overall quality of the experience, particularly for players who value storytelling and character development above complex gameplay. Ultimately, Phantom of the Twilight succeeds because it balances romance, mystery, and supernatural drama with confidence. The murder investigation provides a compelling foundation for the narrative, while the diverse cast and atmospheric setting keep players engaged throughout multiple playthroughs. Its combination of emotional storytelling, strong presentation, and branching narrative design makes it an enjoyable entry in the otome genre. Fans of gothic romance, Victorian settings, and character-focused mysteries will find plenty to appreciate in this stylish and memorable visual novel adventure. Rating: 7/10
