The Character customization is the only thing I used 3 hours playtime for. The rest was laggy glitchy staggering in the tutorial with insane long loading between cutscenes. Game might have potential with a complete overhaul.

Truly sad state of a beloved franchise. Base pso2 was great. NGS is an entirely different game that put base pso2 into maintenance state and broke the old version. NGS released underbaked and took ages to release content which unfortunately for an MMO is not acceptable and killed off most the playerbase. I can not recommend the game in its current state.

First, I'm a Phantasy Star fan and have been for decades. PSO2 was one of my all time favs. PSO2 NG took what they did in PSO2 and made it so much more. Yes I would recommend this game to others. The action can be very intense or laid back. Yes the customization is over the top, but since PSO2 its been that way and needs more. I would love to see a PSO3 in the future and that wont happen without positive feedback. Everyone that has played this game has very much enjoyed it, and you know it! Love it and recommend it!
Can't seem to find a way to login. I Start Game, select a Ship, I created a character (took some time), then it bailed on me saying I wasn't logged in. Lost that character. So looking to login first before Start Game but cannot determine how to. Also, tells me if I want to play PSO2, I must download additional content which it then points me back to this page. Software developers ARE NOT software engineers. Bunch of script monkeys
Bot-infested trash , Sega support prefers to do nothing; in their words, "Thats not my job, Ill pass it on to another department"—but they dont do anything.
Phantasy star Portable 1 and 2 was better than whatever this game is now
(NOTE: I have well over 500 hours in PSO2 thanks to PSO2 Tweaker. My steam hours will not reflect this.) 5/10 New Genesis is a lot of things, but it is NOT a Phantasy Star game.... - Weak single player - No NPC interactions outside of cutscenes - Completely different gameplay loop - A bizarre reimagining of TECHs and TECH based weapons - No casual hangout spots like the Cafe or Casino - A completely unnecessary shift from Hubs to an Open World that nobody asked for - No auxiliaries/companions/fully customizable NPC partners NGS should have been the DLC add on, or better yet, its own game. NGS should have its own servers and its own client, but instead this 150 gig monstrosity was shoved onto a beloved game effectively forcing its retirement while alienating its most dedicated player base. SEPERATE THE GAMES!

I liked PSO2 very much, I even liked NGS for a time, but the sheer amount of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in my inventory keeps me from returning to the game, if I ever do return, I will most likely skip my entire hoard and just play regular old PSO2 from level 1 -> infinity on a new ship where i don´t have to clean up instead of playing a game I recommend the game if you plan to play PSO2 original, and you´ll even have fun in NGS untill you quickly run out of content, but your inventory is a game by itself, a tedious drag of figuring out what does what, where to put it, and why the hell you even got it in the first place The gameplay is worth trying out, combat is quite good and fun, leveling up and participating in raids is a thrill, I can´t recall how many times I´ve relentlessly hammered that poor ghost battleship down, and the red dragon got an unfair amount of beatdowns too PSO2 is old now, but it did have and still have some basic things that makes it a pleasant ride and a place you´ll want to explore more than once
