Perspective is an experimental platformer. The player avatar moves in a 2D space that transforms when the player changes perspective in 3D space. The player needs to use this mechanic navigate the 2D avatar to a goal in order to progress from level to level.
Fun little game where you play with perspective. Changing angle on how you look at things may unlock new way around. Highly recommended! Drop everything and PLAY IT NOW!
It’s always exciting to come across a game that is free and has overwhelmingly positive reviews. Admittedly, when I looked at it on the store page, I loved the concept but thought the game looked a bit amateur and unpolished so was not 100% convinced whilst booting it up. Well, this is why you don’t make judgements until after you play something because I was so impressed by this game. The visuals are simple, and perhaps that was what looked ‘amateur’ to me, but in game it does just work. The game pulls a few small things out of the bag that takes it up a notch and sets it apart from other free games in my opinion. I enjoyed the introduction to the game, and the conclusion. I can’t really go into it without just ruining it for you, so seeing as this game is pretty short I would recommend you just experience the game for yourself. The perspective puzzle mechanic and the mixing of 3D and 2D space is just so good. There are a few games now that use perspective as part of the puzzles, but nothing like this as far as I know. This concept feels unique and it’s really well done. The game progresses puzzle by puzzle from a kind of hub world, which I enjoyed. Love a hub world, me. In terms of story, there isn’t really a story here. It’s just puzzle after puzzle, then at a certain point there are changes that feel significant and feel like it’s trying to portray some kind of hint towards world building. It’s symbolic more than anything, I wondered to myself what the significance was, what it meant and if there was some kind of subtle story there… but I won’t lie to you I was borderline braindead I was practically running on power-saver mode so there was no room for creative thinking in the ol’ noggin. I had to keep those two braincells of mine sharp for the puzzles. Maybe you’ll pick up on something - but for me, I got nothing man. The music is good, it’s quite funky and fitting for the style of the game. I will say towards the end it did start to grate on me a little bit, but in all honestly I played through this with a slight headache during a heatwave of like 30 degree heat so you know, maybe that’s on me. Regardless, the games short nature meant that it wasn’t really an issue anyway. It took me roughly an hour to complete, and although I usually preface my playtime with “I wondered off a few times”, I actually can’t remember if I did that this time. An hour is the average on HowLongToBeat so it may be fair to assume that is the time to expect out of it. This game was fitting for one of my moods where I wanted to play something but didn’t want to get into a full game. It’s a short and satisfying game to complete. Overall I think the high rating for this game is justified, and it’s free so you really can’t go wrong. I thought this game was a lot of fun, and it’s worth the short time you spend in it. Equally, if they created a full length game like this I would most definitely play it. Such a neat little game, as short as they come, but free and oh so very welcomed.
I like this game! The mechanics is simple, but the puzzles are creative and unique. It can be trippy and disorienting though plus the neon colors. 😵💫 I just finished the hub section, I'll finish the rest next time, my eyes are hurting. I've been wanting to play this game since February but it keeps on crashing, turns out I just have to manually adjust the settings to high performance. 😑😆 Definitely recommended 👌
AMAZING game!!! The puzzles are fun and engaging, and the music gives you that epic feeling when your completing level. Sometimes I'll go in and out of "perspective mode" when i want to remix the music... and it's FREE?!?!? Okay, keep flexing, keep flexing... Kind of weird that it crashes with my computer sometimes... but AMAZING..... did I mention it's FREE?!?!?!?!?
