About
PengPong is a bullet-hell roguelike where your only hope for survival is to bounce weapons, items, and... well, pretty much anything that moves. Remember: if it’s not bouncing, you’re doing it wrong. Bounce hard, bounce well, and don’t stop.
Survive the Chaos: Master an endless array of character and weapon combinations to be the last penguin standing.
Physics is Your Weapon: Forget direct hits; momentum and angles are everything. Bounce hockey pucks, guns (yes, you throw them), earphones (this one too), and even pufferfish! If it doesn’t hit them the first time, just keep bouncing it until it does.
High Stakes, High Rewards: Every wave ends with a choice. Will you sign a brutal contract, go all-in at the gambling den, or play it safe at the shop? The choice is yours.
Infinite Synergy: With over 300+ items, every run creates a unique whirlwind of possibilities and chaotic variables.
Rise to the Top: Compete with players worldwide and prove your skills on the global leaderboard.
Cute but Creepy: Immerse yourself in a world inspired by vintage animation; where "adorable" meets "disturbing."
Hit the jackpot in our gambling mini-games and watch the difficulty melt away! But don’t get us wrong, PengPong isn’t a gambling simulator. It’s just a friendly, neighbourhood bullet-hell roguelike starring a very cute penguin, and its even cuter friends. Mostly.
This could have been an all time great it it had more content. There are only 3 maps, and the game pads that out by giving you options to make incremental difficulty increases each run. It doesn't feel half baked, as what is there is worth playing. It's more that it feels finished before it should have been. And I can't say the price is worth the amount you get, I have beaten each world once already within 3 hours (I have an hour in the demo). But the core gameplay is really fun, it's like the space between a brotato and a twin stick shooter where you have more direct involvement in the launching of your attack but it still is more about keeping yourself safe from enemies until the round is over. It's full of personality in the aesthetic and vibe (basically cuphead light), lots of build variety and strategy, good amount of enemy variety (I mean relative to the amount of maps there are), and feels good to control. It's a definite recommendation for me and I hope the devs add more content soon!

TA WENO OEEEEEEEEEE
man this game hooked me HARD. really liked the art style (love cuphead), but still wasn't gonna pick it up cuz I don't really like survivors-likes/bullet heavens that much, but tried the demo and almost immediately picked it up. suddenly it was after 3am and I thought I had just been playing for an hour! definitely short on biomes currently (only 3, but there are increasing difficulty levels for each that add new enemies etc.), but the dev is working on more (in forums they said it's planned for 2026). there's also some meta progression which gives you something to grind for while you knock out achievements to unlock the characters/weapons/items. what's interesting about the meta currency is that it's the same as your in-run currency, so there's no choosing a door just to get more unlocks. just do your run, and whatever's left in your pocket at the end you can use to buff yourself up a bit (altho the numbers needed scale up very fast for the later tiers). the metaprogresion even has some strategy to it as you're only allowed one buff from each category (each one has 3 or 4 choices, and there are either 6 or 8 categories?) so yeah, is it twice as expensive as brotato for a fraction of the content? yes. but between the style, (oh the music fits the theme and is great too!), and the more active play style, I think it's 100% worth it and it does more than enough to set itself apart gameplay wise as well.
The game looks lighthearted, but higher-level stages can provide a serious challenge. Two small mistakes can quickly end a run, which makes surviving a difficult wave feel rewarding
Physics are the highlight for me. Every bounce feels unpredictable in a fun way, and the best moments happen when one carefully timed hit clears half the screen
I didn't think this game would be this addictive. I'm not a hater of 1930s-40s cartoon graphics in games, but I do tend to go for more games with 8bit-16bit pixel graphics, just because they tend to be more nostalgic to me. However, something about this game really pulled me in, and ever since I can't go back. The sound design is one of the best parts to me. Thwacking your weapon always has such a nice *pop* to it, along with the sound of the enemies popping with it, both make for such a wonderful combo to add to such a nice and satisfying gameplay loop. I love getting perks and different items, I love the variety of enemies in the different maps and levels, I love the little idle animation for the characters you can play as, all of these little details make this game feel very well thought out and loved by the developers. I personally appreciate the fact that you can see and feel the fact that the developers have influences that helped them develop this game; Cuphead, Binding of Isaac/Brotato, some deckbuilding elements like those from Balatro. My only critique is that the music can be a little annoying, but I recognize that that comes down to personal taste. Maybe it would be nice if there were tracks with less shrill saxophone and more emphasis on cool jazz/swing with the rhythm section in front, and less on the treble-y instruments. Maybe an idea for the next couple of new levels! This game is so simple that, at times while I'm playing it, I feel like it shouldn't work nearly as well as it does, but I definitely recommend this to someone who wants a roguelike bullet-hell that's not too punishing, light-hearted, and overall satisfying to complete!
