Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 24.71/day in the week to Aug 31 → 25.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
In Pathogenic, you are the disease. Experience a visceral 2D roguelike twin-stick shooter where you play as a lone parasite fighting a desperate war against the immune system. Your goal is simple: infect and conquer your human host.
To survive, you must adapt. Hunt down enemy cells, rip out their organelles, and graft them onto your own body. Evolve from a simple cell into a complex engine of destruction. Create powerful, game-breaking builds and become the ultimate pathogen.
Loot, graft, and assemble your parasite from dozens of unique organelles. Combine flagella for movement, mitochondria for power, secretors for ranged attacks, and spikes for melee combat. Chain organelle effects and discover powerful synergies to build an unstoppable disease vector.
Battle a diverse roster of enemies, from basic immune cells like macrophages and T cells to rival parasites such as tapeworms or protozoa. Formidable bosses are lurking deep within the host's organs.
Collect plasmid fragments to permanently upgrade your parasite's plasmid tree between runs. Each parasite will have it's own upgrade tree allowing for a range of builds to suit your preferred playstyle.
Navigate the procedurally generated organic landscape of the human body. Travel through distinct biomes like the branching pathways of the lungs, the pulsating chambers of the heart, and the complex neural network of the brain.
Our detailed, colorful world is powered by a soft-body physics simulation, giving every cell, enemy, and projectile a uniquely satisfying organic feel. The combination of hand-crafted design and procedural generation ensures endless variety - each run offers a fresh and challenging gameplay experience.

Really fun to experiment with all the component combinations. Fluid motion and good visibility. Fun game!

I wasn't expecting to become emotionally invested in the life of a microscopic parasite, yet here we are. Pathogenic takes the "one more run" formula and injects it directly into your bloodstream. The concept is brilliant: you play as the disease, harvesting organelles from defeated enemies, evolving into increasingly absurd biological monstrosities, and waging war against the immune system. It's basically what would happen if Spore's cell stage, The Binding of Isaac, and a biology textbook decided to make a roguelike together. The build variety is fantastic. Every run feels like an experiment that somehow spirals into controlled chaos, and discovering broken synergies is half the fun. The soft-body visuals make everything feel satisfyingly organic, the soundtrack fits perfectly, and the different organs each have their own personality and challenges. What really impressed me is how polished it feels. The controls are responsive, progression is rewarding, and it's the kind of game where you tell yourself "just one more run" and suddenly it's 2 AM and you've accidentally become the apex predator of someone's circulatory system. For an indie title, this is an incredible achievement. It's creative, addictive, surprisingly charming, and packed with replayability. If you enjoy roguelikes, bullet heavens, or just like discovering hilariously overpowered builds, this is an easy recommendation. 10/10. My immune system now feels personally offended every time I launch the game.
Gameplay is fun (Though fairly difficult in my experience). There's already some awesome mods out, adding in entirely new infections and organelles to try. Soundtrack is really amazing, and is thematically tied to the organ you're attacking. Same goes for the levels themselves too, each one feels extremely appropriate for the organ you're attacking. Visuals are quite pretty, though like all bullet-hells, once things become truly chaotic, you basically lose track of who you are in the sea of enemies. Lastly, and while this may sound like a small detail, it's honestly one of my favourite aspects: There's tonnes of microbiological facts and references in the game, which is so incredibly cool to see.
During gameplay, the game frequently experiences sudden and severe lag, and I can't figure out what is causing it. I'm playing on a gaming laptop, and I don't have this issue with any of the other games I play. I really hope these performance issues can be optimized soon, as the lag seriously affects the overall gaming experience. That said, I genuinely like the concept of the game. I would describe it as a roguelite version of *Spore*, and I think it's a lot of fun. I'm only leaving a negative review for now so that the development team can see and hopefully address this issue. Once the performance problems are improved, I'll be more than happy to change my review back to positive.
This game may actually kill me due to sleep deprivation.
Pathogenic is a fun, strategic, challenging, and flavorful roguelike and has been my favorite twin-stick shooter I've played so far. At this point I've beaten the game on the hardest difficulty with various characters, and am just working on grinding out some of the achievements, so I think I am reasonably qualified at this point to write a review. Gameplay so far has been wonderful, with the main strength being the build system. Roguelikes live and die by their item systems and this is one of the best ones I've played with so far. The way that the various organelles affect each other makes optimizing your builds a fun and challenging gameplay loop and leads to me constantly finding weird new interactions where I go "no way, this works like that?" The enemies are fairly standard, with the most interesting enemies IMO being in the early game, as the lategame ones tend to rely more on spamming as many hitboxes out as possible. Though the stage hazards do become increasingly complex which is nice. The bosses are consistently well-designed and interesting, with the heart boss being particularly great, I love how it syncs with the music. It's also reasonably dodgeable in phase 1, though phase 2 is...questionable without some bullet-deleting tech. Theming is also cute, I study immunology by profession so of course I love the biological references. Stage design is visually appealing and distinct, with the heart being a stand-out for the music and theming. I do think it's funny how many other pathogens we kill -- at some point I felt I was doing this guy a favor. But the devs clearly did their homework, I definitely chuckled to myself when I went into the Liver boss room for the first time to be greeted by a very angry Kupffer cell. The only prominent issue with this game only really becomes apparent once you are very experienced with it, which tends to be an issue with many roguelikes and that is that putting together game-breaking builds is very easy. Basically, you just try to make as many interconnected internal slots as possible and then stock up on attack infusers (or a chromatophore laser with some good mutations), and very quickly will reach the point where you hit an enemy once and the entire screen is filled with particles. I have a very vague understanding of what any of the enemies in the final levels even do (outside of the bosses which have an armor system to not get one shot), because usually by the time I reach these levels I shoot a few times randomly and the room is instantly cleared. Overall this game is wonderful, it's worth far more than its 10 dollar asking price and I would 100% recommend picking it up. Great idea and execution, and I really hope that more content or DLC gets added in future patches because there is still a ton of space to explore, the immune system is wonderfully complex and can be an endless source of creative inspiration.
Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Absolute gem of a game, one of the most entertaining roguelikes I've played in a long time. The game has so many accurate references to the human body which is super cool, there's so much item variation and by tandem build variation that replayability is endless. Without a doubt recommend checking it out!
