Passing By - A Tailwind Journey

A lovely little gem of a game. I'm on my fourth play through and still haven't discovered all there is to see. Patience is key, it does require several play throughs but it's totally worth the time and effort. There is a teeny bit of grinding to get food and water but I've found unexpected surprises when I've had to make a pit stop. Please support this delightful indie game.

Wonderful, cute cozy game where you can simply relax and let your thoughts drift after a stressful day at work. A visually incredibly beautiful adventure in which you meet lovable characters and discover the world with your own little airship alongside the main character, Curly. Definitely a huge recommendation!

*German version below* This game is not that easy to describe. A side-scroller and platformer with elements of adventure and survival games. With much more depth than the cute graphics would suggest. You steer your airship in the constant west wind to various air islands, where you search for supplies, tools, and quests. There's no going back. You collect food, water, fuel, etc. You need to make sure you don't run out of any resources, but it never gets stressful. Besides the many small quests, there's a main quest that I haven't completed yet. It moves the story forward at a relaxed pace and is sprinkled with some funny ideas. It's also worth interacting with all the items. Sometimes, there are little Easter eggs hidden there. (Chuck speaks after all!!!) So, when do you play this little gem? Certainly not when you have two hours to immerse yourself in a hardcore game. But it's perfect when you have half an hour to unwind. The game offers just the right intensity for that: Never boring, but also never exhausting. Conclusion: Cute graphics. Engaging story. Somewhat challenging, never exhausting. No bugs found so far. A game to chill. Definitely a recommendation! ********************************** Dieses Spiel ist gar nicht so leicht zu beschreiben. Ein Side-Scroller und Platformer mit Adventure- und Survival-Elementen. Mit deutlich mehr Tiefe, als es die putzige Grafik vermuten lässt. Man steuert sein Luftschiff im stetigen Westwind zu verschiedenen Luft-Inseln, auf denen man nach Vorräten, Werkzeugen und Quests sucht. Ein Zurück gibt es aber nicht. Dabei sammelt man Nahrung, Wasser, Treibstoff etc. Ein wenig muss man auch darauf achten, dass einem keine der Ressourcen zur Neige geht. Stress kommt dabei aber nie auf. Neben den vielen kleinen Quests gibt es eine Hauptquest, die ich noch nicht abgeschlossen habe. Diese trägt die Handlung entspannt voran und ist mit einigen lustigen Ideen gespickt. Es lohnt sich, mit allen Gegenständen zu interagieren. Manchmal verstecken sich dort kleine Easter-Eggs. (Chuck spricht doch!!!) Nun, wann spielt man diese kleine Perle? Sicher nicht, wenn man zwei Stunden Zeit hat und sich in ein Hardcore-Game vertiefen möchte. Aber gerne und immer wieder, wenn man mal eine halbe Stunde zum Runterkommen braucht. Das Spiel bietet genau die richtige Intensität dafür: Niemals langweilig, aber auch niemals anstrengend. Fazit: Niedliche Grafik. Ansprechende Geschichte. Etwas fordernd, nie anstrengend. Keine Bugs gefunden bisher. Ein Spiel zum Chillen. Eindeutig eine Empfehlung!

A cute and fun game perfect for a relaxed evening - if you ever wanted to go on an adventure on your very own airship / hot air balloon, here's your chance!

Wunderschön und liebevoll gestaltetes Spiel. Schöne Farben und tolle Landschaften mit vielen Details. Spannend, da jede Insel entweder kleine Hilfen leistet oder besondere Insel Aufgaben bietet, die nützliche oder schöne Belohnungen bereit hält. Der Survival Aspekt ist durchaus, gerade am Anfang, herausfordernd. Für Jung und Alt geeignet. Sowohl die Nintendo Switch- als auch die PC-Version machen Spaß zu spielen. Mein Sohn und ich lieben es.

Nice Game ! Very well executed, controls are smooth on SteamDeck. I really like the Spiritfarer vibe. It's really fun to sail from island to island and solve the puzzles. The only thing I would really want is a map ! I feel like I am missing so much by not being able to orient myself and find again some island once I have the right tools.

I've played this game already years ago in it's first version and I am so happy it's finally released now on steam! Passing By is lovely and quite wholesome, a game to explore little island, help people in need, collect some stuff and most importantly: Sail the Tailwind! I often come back to this game to spend some time relaxing and enjoying. Embark on a journey, help Curly become a captain and deliver a very special letter!

Amazing ballooning adventure game, loads of nice characters to meet, puzzles to solve, things to collect. I hope to see more in this world, and develop the stories more - maybe a sequel?
