To get the most enjoyment out of it, make sure you: - Completed the original game (preferably all endings) - Patched the game to unlock all R-18 scenes, which are the core of this game. I would recommend this game (and the original game) if you're into yaoi and psycho horror. Here're my thoughts on this game. . . . . . . . 1. Takara's route: a full closure This game feels more like a Part 2 of the Takara's route in the original game, rather than a DLC. In the original game, Takara's route dumped players with loads of information to explain the revenge plans of Takara's clan. As a result, Takara's character was severely underdeveloped, especially his feelings towards Azuma. It was addressed in this game though. Takara wasn't my favourite to begin with but he became more likeable in latter half of the game, as he fought to protect Azuma and got disowned by his family, when he was freed from his duties of revenge and be able to sort out his love with Azuma. I'm glad that it didn't go into a direction where they tried to win Takara's father's approval of their relationship, which would be too unrealistic. 2. Mitsuki's route: bright and progressive As in the original game, Mitsuki's route is a typical sweet story with a tsundere boyfriend. Among the three main routes, it's the most positive one as you would see the growth of Azuma and Mitsuki together. Mitsuki looked much better with his tied-up hair! 3. Matsuda's route: emotional and healing Since the original game, Matsuda's route has always been my favourite. First, Matsuda is my type - a hunk with deep sexy voice who makes the R-18 scenes super hot when paired with Azuma's high pitched moans. Play Mitsuki and Takara's routes and you would get what I mean. Second, his route has the most in-depth narrative of his internal struggles about his abusive kink and remorse since escaping the island. I was truly moved when Matsuda burst into tears after knowing he wasn't responsible for Kudo's death, and when he declared that he was Azuma's boyfriend to Ogino. I also like the interpretation given on Matsuda's famous phrase "I won't be apologizing" near the end of the game. It was Matsuda's desperate way to express one's intense love towards another, even though it may be wrong in the other's eyes. And if you look at the first and last CG, they are both Matsuda and Azuma sleeping on bed hugging each other. Matsuda was shrouded by Kudo's incident on the island at the beginning but ultimately able to get through it (thanks to Takara) and rest without worries. Overall, it gives me great satisfaction completing Matsuda's route as Azuma and Matsuda faced and overcame the threats together and eventually healed each other's wounds. 4. Reversal routes: they are okay... These are simply moments in the original story narrated from Mitsuki, Matsuda and Takara's perspectives. - Mitsuki's reversal routes are quite good as they explained why Mitsuki disliked Azuma initially in the original game. - Matsuda's reversal routes are a bit unnecessary as the original game explained his internal struggles quite well already. - I only find Takara's reversal routes informational because they indicated how Takara murdered others on the island at various points of time in the original game.
never change Mitsugi
