Really fun and polished puzzle/Match 3! Different modes for single player or local PvP, smooth controls with xbox 360 controller or keyboard+mouse (we didn't try remote play though). Relaxing music and funny animations around the puzzle area fill the cup/pint to the brim. Congrats Paper_Games team :)
A neat little Columns-esque falling block / match-3 game with cute graph paper aesthetics, and a unique "3D" mechanic that gives you a new playing field in front of your last one when you top out - you can make matches with blocks behind. A few suggestions: - More distinct colours at higher levels (I'm not colour blind AFAIK but I couldn't distinguish between the two shades of green or the two shades of red unless they were right beside each other) - Add a hard-drop / fast-drop key - Inputs are sometimes missed at faster speeds

This is a really cute and relaxing block drop game and I'm glad I found this hidden gem! What is it?: Tetris-like in some ways, Puzzle Fighter or Puzzle Pirates Sword-fighting in others - single strands of 3 blocks (different mixes of colors within each strand) will fall, and you can move the strand from side to side or mix up the color order of the 3 pieces within the strand before it hits the bottom. If you match 3, you win. I like the 3D feature of it - when you reach the red line at the top, you'll move into the 3D row in FRONT of your board (but can still match with blocks in the stacks behind). Pros: The gameplay is a bit hypnotic and the music is fun, graphics are very very cute - I love seeing the paper blocks fall! Again, love the 3D play feature. It also worked well with my controller. Edit 3/4/22: Devs responded to my comments within 6 hours! So add "community responsive" to the pro list Cons: The game favors casual play right now - in endless mode, it took me until level 50 until I felt challenged (and I think level 57 is where I finally lost my first round). There is no "hard drop" button - you have to manually pull the blocks downward, which can be tedious at lower levels when fall speed is slow. The left/right strafing when blocks fall at the top leave something to be desired - if it gets close to the top, you basically can't maneuver laterally anymore. Finally, as you play, more block colors are added - but the color differentiation will be challenging for colorblind players unless you have enabled icon mode (2 similar reds, greens, and grays - I struggled at times even with good color vision, so I may be trying icon mode myself). Please note I have not tried 2 player mode, this is 1 player mode only review. Devs, if you're reading this - the game is cute and I really enjoy it! If you're able, please add: Note to icon mode that it is a colorblind mode (it's unclear in menus), Hard Drop button, quicker Lateral movement. Definitely worth the $2-$3 bucks I spent on it. I'll be coming back to this game!
Interesting Concept.
This is amazing! Congrats to the dev for keeping something like Tetris fresh after all these decades. Highly recommend! --- One recommendation to the devs, as a red/green colorblind person, please add accessibility features like a symbol for each cube color so that higher levels are playable by people like myself. Once there were green, yellow, orange, and red paper around level 24 on endless I was unable to keep track of matching blocks anymore :(
As soon as you put "tris" in the title of your game, you know you are most likely going to be playing a block falling puzzle game, and let's be honest here, there are literally thousands of such games, so does Papertris stand out in a crowded field? Let's find out. The first thing you notice with Papertris, and this might be given away in the name but everything has the appearance of being made of paper. What at first glimpse looks like a simple Tetris clone, quickly proves to be much more. Groups of 3 vertically stacked coloured cube blocks drop from the top of the screen, you decide where to place your cubes as they slowly fall, the aim being to match up the colours to three or more. Throw in "power cubes" and a few other special types of cubes and things seem pretty straightforward, that is until you start to progress through the various levels. The part that makes this game different, outside of the paper graphics is that there can be layers to the playing area, meaning that you can match cubes on your current layer, with those on a layer behind, bringing a whole new type of difficulty to finishing the levels. The main mode you will play is the Challenge mode, whereby each level has a different challenge, usually involving the matching of a certain number of coloured cubes. The further you progress the harder the challenges you have to complete. Endless mode is exactly what you would expect, you just play until you eventually run out of space and reach the top of the playing area. There is a 2-player mode, which I was unable to test, but it revolves around matching cubes, and sending cubes to your opponent's screen to block them and so on. With the nature of such a game, there is an ever more popular colour-blind mode included, as well as a dark mode. There is clearly a lot of love been put into this game, and the graphics look fantastic, and although the gameplay isn't exactly original, it is all presented well, and offers a decent challenge to any puzzle fan. The Good Fantastic graphics, great soundtrack, fun and simple gameplay. The Bad With the dropping cube blocks only in one shape, a vertical stack of 3, it limits slightly the potential, which would offer a whole extra level of difficulty. Overall A simple and fun puzzle game, that although the basic mechanics we have seen before, it is presented in a new and original format. An enjoyable game, which I score a solid 8/10
挺休闲的,玩法是俄罗斯方块和消消乐的结合。 下落方块的形状是固定的,但可以改变颜色的排列位置。 三个以上的相连的同色砖块可以消除,只能连消不能斜消。
When I first started playing the game felt way too easy and I could just place stuff anywhere... But then after playing for a bit the difficulty and pace starts increasing and it becomes so engaging! Especially the 3D aspect of it gives you a whole new perspective on tetris! Cool thing is after you reach higher levels, you can then start new games at higher levels, to skip that slow pace if you want. Really fun little game, definitely worth the ~$3
Very polished and well-made game, takes the oldest game known to man and still manages to bring something new to it, also in this price range it's quite baffling how polished it actually is. You can tell a lot of time and love went into this game! Recommend if you are the type of person who likes to kill time with games like Tetris and Candy Crush. I'm guessing (but haven't tested) that this is PERFECT for the Deck as well as the Nintendo Switch. Some nitpicks for the devs that could make this game even better: * Input on PC can be a bit confusing at times. One thing sticks out more than the rest: The fact that up is used to quickplace really throws me off, as up is used to rotate in OG tetris. Finding the new-style rotate buttons (especially when playing with arrows initially) had me a bit confused and made me consult the manual. At first I didn't think blocks could even be rotated. I think some UX work could be well invested time to make things like this more clear. * Very high contrast in some 3D parts of the UI, for example pins, completely black hard shadows etc. Experimenting with Global Illumination or other types of ambient lights to brighten up dark spots could really push the visuals to the next level I think. * Quickdrop should be faster (almost instant), as right now it feels like youre spending time waiting when you should be enjoying the game . All in all, 4/5, highly recommend this game to anyone!
