Panmorphia is a lovely adventure game with gorgeous scenery and a calming soundtrack. The puzzles will really challenge you to think outside the box to advance. In case you get stuck, the built-in hint system gives pretty direct guidance on what to do next. The story is unique and interesting too! It can be a little challenging to see how the screens connect to each other, but the map helps the player learn where the exits are and how the world fits together. Panmorphia is a hidden gem and I hope more people check it out! Although I haven't played much on Steam yet, I have played Panmorphia on other devices. I look forward to finishing it again!
My honey bought me this game after I had told her about playing Barbie Swan Lake as a kid. I had mentioned how the point and click type of puzzle games were intriguing and that I wish I had a game like it now. She surprised me with Panmorphia and I was pleasantly addicted from the start. Gorgeous visuals and peaceful music to set the mood of a magical world. Puzzles were decently challenging and I was happy with how many items you could pick up and use around the map. So fun ;)
Well enough as point and click games go. Very simple design, but needed some QOL like proper direction arrows on screen for moving.
I didn't want to give a thumbs down to this game because I really want to like it--the music is beautiful, the ambient sounds are nice and the still photos for the scenes are very pretty. BUT..figuring out how to move around was irritating (yeah, yeah, the little arrows are there if you select them in options) and there IS a hint system in place...but you are going to spend a lot of time with trial and error to deal with the puzzles. I'm an hour and a half into this and haven't even reached the part where I turn into something else (gleaned from discussions and the other review I found). I'm going to persevere--not sure if my game even saved at the point I left it. Guess I'll find out!
At first, I thought it was a charming, and calming game. Panmorphia incorporated obvious digital art into real life photos, but I learned it doesn't matter as long as the puzzles are good. And they're good! Not bad. Just. I could've use a tutorial and instructions for some puzzles. Specially, a tutorial for where the hint feature was (? at map) and instructions for that puzzle for the frame item. There isn't a lot of instructions. You can still go very far in the first part, just picking up things and using it on certain places. But at some point, I got stumped. Although the digital objects added are obvious, there were some that aren't; you just have to click everywhere (e.g. click on grass lower right). I confess, I just went for a walkthrough when I got stuck midway. It was just too frustrating to go back and forth and click everywhere, not knowing what I was missing. I only found out about the hint feature near the end of my gameplay. I do like some parts of the game; I like the transformation and its essential use of it in the game. Some games have animal transformation, but Panmorphia really has it as part of the gameplay and not just for one puzzle scene. I like how soothing the music is. It's charming. If you pick this up, 1) hint feature is in the map as a ?, and it's very straightforward on what to do next, 2) walkthrough available at developer's website and youtube, and 3) if you're suddenly missing the amulet, just transform back to the animal you were previously and go to the last scene you were in as that animal; you need to pick it up.
Cute, casual slide-show style puzzle. Lots of the items you need to find are going to take a pixel hunt, and not all of the solutions will make sense (well, they didn't make sense to us). We had fun, but used the hint system a lot and also a walkthrough towards the end.Love this kind of game in particular, but pixel hunts are tedious. Wish the developer had put more effort into designing a logical set of puzzles and less into making things hard to find. For a few bucks, though, it was worth it. Just don't be ashamed of using the hint system (unless, of course, pixel hunts are your thing, in which case, enjoy hours and hours of carpal-tunnel-inducing mouse clicks).
good puzzle game
Absolutely loved this and the other games in the Panmorphia trilogy. Challenging puzzles and a beautiful environment.
Gute Musik und nette Rätsel, wirklich - manchmal etwas unklare Streckenführung...
