Palmier Island

Fun demo, if not short. Wish there was a way to replay dialog to try and guess words after you've moved past them. but otherwise pretty good :)

This seems like it's going to be pretty fun when it's fully released. I wish the characters were a little more customizable, but that's not really a big deal. Having a way to try getting the meanings for unknown words already in the word bank would be nice (unless I just couldn't find it) since there was one that I apparently forgot to grab but knew the meaning of so I wasn't able to get it until the next time it came up in conversation. The dialogue replaying when you cycle back through would be helpful for learning pronunciation, since you can already go back to work on word recognition and context. There were a few times I tried to add more than what the game wanted, which counted as a fail, leading to patience being lost by the person I was talking to even though what I said was still in line with the conversation, just not the 1-2 word answer it was looking for. Overall, a very cute and interesting way to work on a language though!

So downloaded to practice French, which I like. Some context: I went to French class in school a few years back, I know a pretty basic understanding with rust. However because of the comments I noticed there's a few words that you need a bit more than basic to understand when it comes to Alphie which could get frustrating. Then there's shopping, yeah I learned I'm better at reading in context than trying to figure out which ones shampoo correctly. So Pros: good practice for French to shake the rust off (Though no clue on accuracy as a non-native French speaker), good humor, nice art style, a good system in my opinion. con: invisible barriers which caused me to have to go around the island which was tedious, No clue where to go sometimes I'm pretty excited to see how the game goes and can't wait to practice my French on the full release
