Just another woke game. First you choose a body type then you get a lecture about diversity and inclusion that you have to press agree on that then a boring game... first thing the game wants you to do is build a house and only 45% of players has done that meaning 55% did not even play it for 15 minutes ...
10/10 game, super cozy and there is a lot more to it than i thought! there are a lot of quests and things to do to keep you busy as well as collectible items like plushies and potato pods (adorable) that you can use to decorate your property! kinda like the stardew valley and animal crossing had a baby and it came out jacked up on mountain dew xD currently have been playing on switch instead of pc which i will say has its issues but the moment i am able to play on pc i know it will be world changing. a 100% free to play game and the only thing you have to purchase (if you want to) is cosmetics and added storage now but truly you dont need any of that! for a game still in beta i am very very impressed and spend way too much time playing.

6/10 game for me. Love most of the stuff about it, but there are a few things I don't. Amazing clutter options, character customization, and now theres even mounts. I am a 100% free to play player and have not ever felt FOMO, but that doesnt mean that the devs are perfect. Very little communication from devs, long update times (specfically in the first 2 years of it being out) as well as the differing quality for all the different ports. Its an amazing game for cozy gamers, but the community has soured over time. Some groups think they own a server or activity, and I have friends that still play (I take a lot of hiatuses) and they have ALL said they have experienced people being mean to them simply for doing things that even the loading screens say you can do. Several times they have had community events that are tied to in game things, like catching bugs, fish, or doing certain tasks. We are left in the dark on how we were doing on it until they decided to update the numbers, and occasionaly they would extend some events, but not others. I fell out of playing religiously around 3 patches into Elderwood, but I have come back every couple of months to get some newer items. All this to say it is a good game. A lot of lore for ALL the characters, all of the characters are influential in their own rights, as well as there being SO much to do. Even if you reach end game content, there are tons of stuff to do for your own plot, achievements, and just general hanging out with people. MOST of the community is really nice. You can do server chat in Bahari, Kilima, or the Underground and you will get your questions answered close to 100% of the time. If you are into paid cosmetics, it does seem to be weighted more towards feminine motifs, but we did recently get a few mystery cosmetic and both of the ones I got were were perfect for my male character, though some masculine-charactered players did voice concern over getting magical girl attire lmao.
Palia is my soulmate of the game world. Cozy, play at your own pace, and keeps me busy. Here are my thoughts more in depth: -House building and decorating is unmatched, however I wish more house pieces were able to connect to each other. - Free to play and your choice to purchase from the premium shop does not hinder your ability to advance in the game which is great for those who don't or can't spend money. - I will say, the premium shop is excessively expensive and the fact that single pieces of clothing can't be purchased without purchasing the entire outfit has always been absurd to me. - I love the interactions with the villagers and all their different personalities. The downfall to this however is their dialogue gets SUPER repetitive especially after you've maxed out the friendships and romance. - I ADORE the map and the open world exploration. There are so many creatures to find and random activities to do in each of the areas. - I will say though, the new expansion of the Royal Highlands was kind of disappointing to me. It took me so long to fully explore the Elderwood and get my bearings in that area, but the Royal Highlands didn't really add much in my opinion and it was super easy to get through despite it being the biggest exploration area. (Crab Wars helped me like the Royal Highlands more) - There is ALWAYS something to do in this game and it keeps me locked in for HOURS upon hours. - I'm addicted to Hotpot. - When a new update comes out the new main story quests take me all of 30 minutes to complete which is a little sad. I like doing the story quests more than anything else because it gives me something to actually work towards, and now after being caught up with everything it's kind of a let down. I will say it did take a long time to get caught up with the main story when I first started playing the game, but I still wish more of the story was added in the updates. - I can't get hurt. I'm not the kind of person who plays combative games like Elden Ring, I like the calmness of Palia and not really having any consequence for anything. - Cooking gets repetitive and boring, it is my least favorite skill to work on which is unfortunate because you have to consume SO much food in this game even after leveling up at the shrines. I've heard that cooking parties are a blast and you can make so much money from them, but I'm a religiously solo player thanks to being socially awkward, so I haven't gotten there yet. - The overall Palia community is VERY nice. There are some exceptions, as there are with other communities and our world, but I've seen nothing but kindness in the year and a half I've been playing this game. To finish; I know it looks like I complained a lot about this game, and there are a lot of things this game could change/fix/add, but this game is literally my soulmate game. It keeps me busy because there is always something you could do. It's so cozy and play at your own pace which I LOVE. I think Palia is the best cozy open-world game out right now, it just needs more love and time to grow into something exceptionally beautiful.
Palia is a very enjoyable game. When I first joined this game a year ago, I did not enjoy it. It was in it's early beta stage and I felt that it was bland at the time. Just a week ago I returned to Palia, wanting to see how it had progressed over the year. Needless to say I was NOT disappointed. There's so much more content now, little tasks to do, more characters to chat with, more quests, relationships, and even the storyline improved! I love it all so much! I don't think I've seen anyone say this before, but Palia reminds me of Free Realms in a lot of ways, and for me, that's a good thing. Palia has filled the Free Realms shaped hole in my heart and made it ten times better (It's basically a modern day Free Realms, the chappas and Zeki remind me of the orange flying squirrel, I think his name was Chatty?). One of my favorite things about this game is the level of detail when it comes to cooking, it's actually an enjoyable minigame, unlike other cozy games I've played where it feels like an insufferable chore or the skill itself feels lackluster. Same with all the other skills really. Palia makes all the skills not so challenging that it becomes an overstimulating grind (Like Dreamlight Valley), but makes the skills not so easy that you feel like there's nothing to do/isn't a rewarding experience (like Heartopia). Palia is everything I could of hoped for, and I'm glad I revisited it. Sometimes with early access or beta games, if you don't like it then, you might like it later! :)
Review as of 0.205. I can't in good faith recommend this game because it feels unfinished, yet there's no Early Access tag on it and it has a cash shop for cosmetics. Controller support is finicky even after disabling or enabling SteamInput, with the shoulder buttons just not registering anymore until you hit a load screen sometimes, NPCs walk through the ground or slide around like they've transcended reality, and animals aren't always where they appear on your screen (see: Deer was in the ocean technically when you shot it on land, so your pelts are in the ocean now.) I want to like this game, I really do, but as it stands you can get a lot more out of almost any other farming game out there without microtransactions, and with an actual release window. (Note: Palia is only on version 0.2 after two years, at this rate, you'll be waiting until 2034 to play the full title.)
o jogo e lindo bem dinâmico, tem bastante missões e quebra cabeças bem bacanas que vai te entreter por várias horas.
So fair warning, this review is coming from a new player (Started less than 2 months ago w/ <200 hours) who got into this game after seeing videos of the mounts and farm animals with breedable cosmetic and non cosmetic traits and the content surrounding it. As a die hard horse girl from the time I could walk, I have searched for the perfect horse game that has that "pick up and play" feel with a good community. Now saying all that, this is not a horse game and do not expect that, but if you are willing to sacrifice the realistic horse/animal aspect of a game this fantasy MMO will scratch that itch. Not in the satisfying way that this game absolutely can and should, but I would safely say it could replace a lot of player's daily games until that game comes around. Here is my short list of grievances: 1. Start of game is an absolute grind-fest and lack of direction is a real issue. Thankfully the community has helped with this so asking for help is very easy and there are walkthroughs posted by multiple people for anything you have trouble with. 2. Lack of instruction/direction by itself. It's important to list this as it's own point because tutorials literally guide players on how to play your game, and you CANNOT just give them half the instructions and let them guess the rest. i.e. Placing one of each cooking station down and thinking you can cook whatever you want now when in reality, some recipes require duplicates of certain stations. The current set up/indicator does not work new players trying to figure things out. 3. Reasonable Storage/Capacity limits. Now again, I'm a new player who just unlocked paladian storage chests, so I'm not feeling squeezed there at the moment (however I can definitely see where later on down the line when I start decorating my plot and getting into money making etc. that there will need to be some management on my own hoarding tendencies to stay happy there). My REAL issue with this game is HOW ARE YOU GOING TO CAP OUR FARM ANIMALS AT 30 AND KEEP INTRODUCING MORE BREEDABLE ANIMALS WITH COSMETIC TRAITS?!?!?!???? This is the most asinine bottle neck of this game and it absolutely infuriates me. There is already a system in place that negatively impacts the production of your animals if you are keeping more than the recommended limit (VERY FAIR!) but then how are you going to reasonably expect to have FOURTEEN breedable farmstock, ALL with their OWN COSMETICS that you can try to breed for, and then tell players they can only have 30 animals on their farm to breed/raise. So unless you would like to take months/years to try to breed all the cosmetic traits you want with 2-3 animals at a time... you are forced to focus on one animal at a time, breed the cosmetic traits you want, spend coins or time to age them up so you can retire them and gain a free spot back on your farm. As an adult player who likes to spend money on games for fun cosmetics and mounts, this set up specifically makes me not want to spend any more because I'm paying to not have a good time at this point. That is what I ran into with the Phoenixfire mount and would definitely like to warn off others until there is a better system in place. That being said, I still play the game daily and have do have fun. It's a great fantasy/cozy game MMO that's overall pretty low-commitment. But I cannot in good conscience recommend this game when it's actively taking money, hand over fist, from players paying to unlock mounts with real money, and then bottlenecking and almost punishing them when they try to utilize the system to try to breed the one they want.
