Reviews
I saw there weren't any reviews for the game, so I might as well write one up. This is an odd review, as this really isn't the type of game I personally enjoy, but I'd recomend it anyways for those who would enjoy it because I can tell it's definitely well made, especially for the price. The shortest way to describe it is "endless omni-directional Plants vs Zombies with rouge-like item drops". You get a deck of cards, passively generate mana and can discard a plant to earn more, and try to survive as long as possible. Enemies can drop items that give various effects, like crit chance, spread debuffs, or let your base Tree attack as well. There's some variety of enemies, but most are just variants of "run towards a plant and attack". Like most tower defense games, you put down your defenses and sit back to watch as they target enemies and try to hold out against the increasing swarms. For the downsides, putting aside subjective dis-interest in these types of endless arena battlers, the biggest one is the card system. Every so often you level up and can either upgrade a card, or buy a new one, but from my playtime there isn't a way to remove cards from your deck. That means that if you buy too many new plants, your deck becomes so bloated you can't really draw into the cards you need unless you have a ton of mana saved up and discarding has a cooldown. While it does encourage you to focus on specific builds, it means if you chose one starting class, such as focusing on melee plants, and get extremely lucky with cards/items for a different playstyle, like a ton of debuff based stuff, the melee plants just bog you down. Also, the screen can get quite cluttered if you have a lot of buffing plants. It would be really nice if each plant was marked with it's level, so as you upgrade your deck you can more easily see which plants need upgrading on the field. Otherwise, for how cheap the game is, it's not that bad. Definitely worth it if you are looking for a more simple survivors-like mixed with tower defense.
