(TL;DR: The developer built a career out of hyper-cynical YouTube clickbait about "lazy AAA game design," yet delivered a clunky, barebones tech demo completely reliant on unpaid modders to finish the job. Instead of fixing it, he spends his time deleting constructive criticism and literally threatening to sue other YouTubers who give him a bad review. Making a "Battlefield killer" is clearly harder than yelling in all-caps. Have fun reading...) Oooh, boy. Let's unpack this mess of an ego project..! For starters, Operation: Harsh Doorstop is the brainchild of Bluedrake42, a gaming YouTuber with over a million subscribers. Now, I could point out the absolute, blinding hypocrisy of his brand. This is a guy who built a massive channel farming outrage about modern gaming and positioning himself as the savior of the tactical shooter genre. He's complained about paid game journalists and content creators doing "hit pieces" on his game, demanding they disclose sponsorships. Yet, hilariously, he has been called out for refusing to adhere to FTC requirements on his own channel regarding his own sponsorships. However, this isn't just about YouTuber drama; no, this review is about the game itself, and how the creator treats the people playing it. I for one downloaded this to see if Bluedrake could actually create the Garry's Mod of Milsim. He promised a massive tactical sandbox, positioned as a true alternative to heavyweights like Squad, Delta Force, Battlefield, and Arma. But the problem is that all Bluedrake served up was a framework of empty promises, and he's entirely hostile to anyone who points that out. The base game has about as much substance as one of his Youtube shorts on guessing "what gun is shown on screen". Remember all the hype about this being the ultimate tactical experience? Instead, he poured out a barebones, clunky platform that expects the community to just make the game for him. It’s fair that he wanted to create a modular platform with extensive mod support, but man... you actually have to provide a compelling base game before pulling a Starfield and asking unpaid modders to fix it for you. The gameplay itself feels incredibly slow, weightless, and unpolished. But of course, the absolute worst part of this entire project is Bluedrake's community management. If you dare to leave constructive criticism on the Steam forums regarding his outbursts or poor management skills, his first instinct is to simply delete the thread. When dealing with community backlash, instead of acting like a professional studio head, he publicly tells people they need "legitimate help, from a DR." and to "chill out and go outside". It is peak irony to claim you're the champion of honest, community-driven gaming while aggressively censoring and insulting that same community. Oh, and if you're a content creator who doesn't praise his game? He will literally threaten you with legal action. Last year, he started warning influencers that if they reviewed his game while accepting sponsorships from competing studios, they were violating trade law and he would trigger an FTC investigation. He legitimately believes that anyone making a "hit piece" on his masterpiece isn't an independent journalist, but a "paid contractor for our competitor". In one completely unhinged community rant, he even claimed that American content creators covering competing games were betraying US laws to benefit foreign corporations, directly stating, "you disgust me". It's pure, unadulterated delusion to deflect from the fact that his game is struggling. Ultimately, this game proves that Bluedrake can't handle criticism and can't deliver on his grandiose YouTube hype. His hardcore defenders are always screaming "but it's just a framework!" or "but it's free!" But what the broader gaming community isn't doing is actually sticking around to play it. Let's look at the actual stats: there are barely 75 players online right now, with a 24-hour peak of around 264. The game's all-time peak of just over 2,000 players was over 3 years ago when the initial hype train derailed. It turns out making a good tactical shooter that people actually want to play is a lot harder than threatening to sue your critics. For all his bluster about how the AAA gaming industry is ruined, he ended up churning out an undercooked shell of a game surrounded by misplaced priorities, legal threats, and childish insults. It just goes to show that YouTubers who thrive on drama and clickbait are exactly like the greedy publishers they complain about: completely out of touch. Don't buy into the hype. Even if it's free, your time is valuable, and your hard drive space deserves better. Just go play Gmod like everyone else.

despite ALL problems and unfulfilled promises , just make the game optimization better , and when is the beta version ? should we wait for another 6 years ? the incompetence and ignorance from the devs URGES people NOT to spend a single dime this game is like a bank account you forgot you had and its just setting there forgotten .
BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW: Intro: Just for starters, I'd like to say, if you couldn't tell already, this is a positive review; thus, I like the game. That being said, it still has cons that could easily turn some players away. Pros: -The game is fun and realistic -The graphics can compete with those of a AAA game -The weapon handling and overall feel of the game is solid -You can play offline and/or multiplayer -There is some variability Cons: -The game can easily feel repetitive or too strict/hard due to its main core loop being team against team fighting for a point. Death in this game is also rather unforgiving, usually involving you having to wait and walk a long distance back to the objective. However, this is a nitpick since it can really be seen both ways depending on how you take it. -From my personal experience, having around 65+ bots causes your computer to lag. It is not a surprise in the slightest, but still something worth noting if you thought this game was a full-blown 50 vs 50 or higher. -Mod support is plain simply ♥♥♥♥. It has a workshop, but mods are mostly broken due to new updates or kinda suck. -This game is unfinished, and it shows. Parts of the map and behaviour in the AI are the main takeaways, but it is painfully noticeable in other aspects. As a game developer myself, I won't slander an indie game as good as this for being unfinished because it's something that all players should know before getting into it, but if you don't like unfinished games, I suggest you go back to your Call of Duty. Summary: The game is good, and you can most definitely pour a good deal of time into it, but it is fairly repetitive and in an unpolished state.
Dead game. i've played better games on roblox tbh.
Game made by a manchild, doesn't know any development and freeloads entirely off community modders. Watch bigfry video for more.
This dev relies on AI and explains why its such a pile of ♥♥♥♥ its like a mid bare bones Squad. NPCs are incredibly braindead which doesnt help
it has a lot of potential but its really, really boring. combat isn't that exciting and maps look lazy and thrown togetherand overall gameplay is kinda bland, relies heavily on mods to stay interesting
Just a cheap knockoff of squad, the guy just using influencing to attract people to his years old still poor game while moaning at other developers for doing the same or better. try it but you will uninstall it again pretty quickly. honesty is the best policy as they say.
So many improvement from the devs feels like playing battlefield 2 + project reality + squad
probably the worst shooter game i played
