It's really close to the idea of fishing that so many people fantasize about but isn't realistic. The idea of taking it slow, enjoying the scenery, admiring nature, and having complete freedom. The base elements are there and some really great mechanics like having to draw your own map make you think you're in for a grand adventure, but like a chill one. An adventure you're gonna sink dozens of hours in and never be bored. That first hour is exactly that, I was overwhelmed but kept that mindset that this game, ideally, is just about chillin. It is. The problem is maybe it's too chill. The island has ways of teasing you into thinking there's so much to discover. My first time seeing the giant towers from across the water had me booking it and loving the idea of not just seeing what was there, but being lost. The magic ends when you get there though, those towers aren't anything. The giant buildings in the same area, they're empty. There aren't even props in them to mess with or just look at and maybe come up with you're own idea as to why they are there. That's the entire game. You keep thinking there must be more to it than a basic, empty asset, but there isn't. Once you hit that wall (and I hit that wall in less than 2 hours), there's nothing beyond it. You're on an empty island with nothing to do, nothing to see, and your only goal seems to be to make as much money as possible for no reason. This is shown pretty heavily in the farming mechanic. Farming does nothing for you except make you more money. It would have been so cool if it incorporated into the cooking mechanic in the game but it doesn't serve any other purpose than to skyrocket profits. It destroys the idea of the game I thought I was getting into. I can keep going about things that disappointed me but you probably get the picture. This game is truly empty. I went into it wanting a chill fishing game but man it actually gets me sleepy hitting this and not in a good way. Despite this, I think this game has good bones that I hope get expanded upon, but I cannot recommend it as is. [b]P.S.[/b] If you're looking for an experience SIMILAR to this, but with all the feelings of discovery I was talking about, play Mysteries Under Lake Ophelia. You won't sink dozens of hours into that game either but every moment of that game is fantastic and it's the same exact price.

I really miss fishing when i was young this game have same feels when i go fishing just building, ponds, lake and no people, and this game really make lonely atmosphere and very chill. I hope dev add stream river and relaxing bgm.

This honestly might be my favorite game of the entire year, at least so far. This is an incredible experience with so much to do it's almost mind boggling. So many kinds of bait to catch so many types of fish, tons of cool bugs to find and even a spot of farming! It's absurd to me that this costs only 5 dollars, this game is a must play!

I think the developer has put immense efforts into making this the best game they can, and I am confident they will continue to do so. At the price offered, it's a steal.

Yes, you can fish, if you want to call it that. It sucks. I don't understand the positive reviews. The mechanics are shallow. Zero depth to anything. Tons of empty open space. Refunded.

A friend picked this up recently and was clearly obsessed with it, after seeing his review I decided to check it out and boy! I'm glad I did. If you're like me and appreciate a good fishing game but dislike that certain minigame that's monopolized the entire fishing game genre, this one's got a breath of fresh air and more appeal to boot! There's so much more to this than I expected, a lil bit of exploration, quests, farming I think, and even what sounds like a roguelike. I'm fresh into the game but man it's already got me a bit hooked! My own complaint is the day night cycle options, there's not really one that fits what I'd like; 40 minutes is too short but real time is maybe a little too long. I'd love some more detailed customization but I'll have to play some more during the noon hours to really get a feel for real time fishing. But I love this so much! Lovely style, lovely gameplay, lovely vibes!

The world is a bit of a trip to exist in. I can see how others have a creepy vibe. The gameplay is simple, but fun though. Perfect podcast game.

This game has potential, but fighting fish sucks. Its too hard, the fish moves around too much and you can't see the green bar. If you change the fighting mechanic, let me know I will try this game out again
