Onmyoji：the card game

This game is actually really fun. I would probably even invest in it, but the Steam version is unplayable due to bugs. I will probably come back and check it every year or so to see if they fix it and update this, but as of 2024 it's broken... (and has been broken for many years).

Хорошая карточная игра. Во многих отношениях лучше Хартстоуна. Я раньше играл на планшете и это удобнее. К тому же я там уже далеко зашёл, а здесь не вижу возможности войти в свою учётку. Попробую в блустаксе эту же игру запустить на пк.

i've only played on the mobile version, so idk about the glitches on the Steam version. not like you can play the game rn but might as well leave my final review--maybe some youtuber will find out about this game and use it as part of their videos. dunno. note that i've been playing this game since 2020. mechanically, this game is really interesting--instead of disposable units you summon and throw around, you get to play with 4 whole Shikigami/playable units, each with their own cards(see: genshin's tcg mode except the units can revive). this does make each unit played by you feel more personal, and they even got their own voicelines for every card and stuff! i'm a big fan of Hoshiko, Hiyoribou, Karasu Tengu, and many more. the game also features really good visuals and effects, even if it has declined over the years. the music is also immacculate, even if it has also been declining over the years. i've used the words decline a lot, but it's not...that bad? the only big flaws about this game is how overwhelming it can be newer players due to the mass of cards and shikigami, and specifically its localization. some newer cards have really weird translations, and out of game, the social media accounts have all stopped posting. while up for debate whether it's good or not, OTCG also...doesn't have a lot to whale for? of course it's good that it isn't predatory, but a lot of Shikigami are made for free(even if it's mainly the ones that are at least a year old) and the cosmetics, while awesome, don't usually cost you an arm and a leg(for some currencies). to end off, Onmyoji: The Card Game is an awesome game and it has given me an experience like none other. it's terribly managed on the global side and its Chinese Server side definitely deserves more funds but it's still a great game. thank you, Onmyoji: The Card Game. maybe in another timeline and with better people, you'd be thriving....
