Nice casual platformer, heavily inspired by US Mario 2 mechanics, but with some new touches. The music is very bland, the graphics are nice, the controls are a bit weird. Overall, I recommend it!
Gunman Clive 3 waiting room
While Gunman Clive 1 and 2, probably the most well-known game by Horberg Studios, were great homages to Mega Man, Onion Assault is a mediocre, flawed homage to Super Mario Bros 2. I do like the soundtrack for this game and I don't feel like the level design is inherently bad. The art style is super basic though. The biggest flaw of all with this game is how the main character controls. For one, you have two characters you can choose from, but, unlike the game they get inspiration from (and also unlike another one their games they made), the two characters play exactly the same and are only different in aesthetic (as far as I can tell). This wouldn't be so bad if the character didn't control so strangely. You have to precisely jump on enemies' heads all the time to grab them and throw them and doing so with the awkward physics in this game often leads to getting hurt rather than successfully grabbing them. The control has a sort of awkward floatiness to that just makes most of the platforming, especially anything involving precision, hard to do. By the halfway point of World 2, I had just stopped having fun with this game. It's not a horrible game and I could maybe see someone liking it if they could get used to the controls. But it was just not for me personally.
Lot's of fun! A very polished game, with practically no bugs or glitches. one issue I had was, that there isn't a lot of checkpoints, which can make the game a little more frustrating than it should be. Full video Review here: https://youtu.be/aY6HbPqbK4U
