one night, hot springs

i realised i haven't written a review at all despite loving this game, so i propose i'll do that. haven't played this in awhile but i can still remember the game just well. brilliant game, just brilliant. its nothing crazy yeah but i love how the game tackles the challenges of being transgender and the obstacles that one may face. this is a no brainer but the visual novel also explores how trans individuals may feel conflicted about expressing themselves more in public spaces rather than practice in private. this is not an easy task at all because of how frowned upon it may be in some areas and how people may react to your identity, as evident by there needing to be LGBTQ+ representation in the first place. while the game takes on a rather simple story, you're just a girl who is going to a hot springs to hang out with your friends and that's pretty much it on the surface. it is much more deeper than that as the game handles a much more personal topic by showing the emotional weight that someone like Haru can hold, thinking they're being a disturbance by just being their true selves. I'm not transgender so I am not able to relate to this game fully but I can tell many of my close friends who are transgender and part of the LGBTQ+ can relate alot to this and appreciate the art, being able to encapsulate the unfortunate issues that comes with being transgender. i never thought i'd say this but this is probably my favourite visual novel despite it being so small and i cannot wait to check out more of the creators games when i get to them. #recommended.
