I hate this game... Not because its a bad visual novel or anything, but it resonates too much to me and my experience, On the surface, it's a simple story about a girl going on a trip with her friends to a hot spring. But beneath that is something much heavier. It's about wanting to belong somewhere that already feels like home, while constantly wondering if everyone else sees you the same way. and enduring just the emotional weight of wanting to spend time with friends without feeling like you're causing problems by simply existing. I, myself, am a trans woman... and a lot of Haru's thoughts hit painfully close to my own heart. Not because they're dramatic, but because they're normal. Wondering which door you're allowed to walk through. Worrying if your presence will make someone uncomfortable. Feeling like you have to earn the right to be called by your own name or recognized for who you are. They're everyday thoughts, and that's exactly why they hurt. The game is short, can be anywhere from 30-50 minutes. It's a short game. Whether you're trans or not, I think there's something to take away from this story. If you've never had to think about these situations before, it offers a perspective that's honest without ever feeling forceful. And if you have... there's a good chance you'll see parts of yourself in Haru, just as i have. Just remember, that you are valid. And I care.

very short and cute game extremely relatable, very good rep of the hell thats the trans experience gender dyshpria simulator/10
It's cute and short. On my first playthrough I played as if I myself were in the main character's situation, and I got the bad ending which is probably a wake up call for me >3>
Well, the game is free. That's good. But its 95% positive review score seems to mostly just be from affective and/or ideological identification, because the game itself is just not that good and really quite terribly written. First... it's just boring. Effectively nothing happens. There is no conflict, not even in the bad ending. All storylines are basically just "Haru feels uncomfortable, and people are nice to her." The game had the opportunity to present some real psychological conflict, but it failed by keeping everything very surface-level. But also, the story isn't coherent across different routes. If you decline Manami's invitation, Haru just contemplates
how nice Manami's parents are and how they took her shopping to buy new clothes after her coming out
, but if you get a Manami route, then apparently Manami
doesn't know Haru is trans
. Unless Haru
only came out to Manami's parents, not Manami herself
, then this makes no sense. And even within the same route, the story just doesn't make sense. If Haru is Manami's "best and oldest friend" who she grew up with, then
this must be an insanely superficial friendship if Manami somehow doesn't know Haru is trans
. Also, when they check into the ryokan, Haru
gives her legal name, Haruto, which the receptionist then reads out loud, right in front of Manami
. Yet, later, Manami
doesn't know she's trans
!? That makes no sense. That would be like
discovering your female friend Alex's name is actually short for Alexander
. So, then, why do I have like 23 hours logged on this game? Because it's available in Greek. Text-heavy games in Greek are very rare. This was a fantastic opportunity to practice my Greek. But if you're playing in a language you're good at, then you should know that this game is more or less exclusively for people who are trans or already have emotional/political/identity investment in trans stories. If that's you, that's fine, but this game's overwhelmingly high review score is definitely from affective/ideological identification, not its actual merits as a game or story.
The world can be kind too...
refreshingly positive portrayal of potential societal experiences as a transgender person. there is hope for the world we live in :> very warm and sweet at times :D
Peak! Just play it, you won't regret! With all storylines, story is not that short as people say. Demonstration of transgender perspective is really beautiful and thoughtful. Characters are also well written, each has a background, it's surprising for such size. Thanks, npckc, that's amazing job! (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) However, some of the story decisions weren't clear to me, e.g.: dialogues about Haru's name (Front desk and Erika). Personally, all answers felt neutral to me, somehow some of them are bad. And vice versa, answers I thought were bad, were actually neutral. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Who am I to judge anyways? Still a great game! <3
A darling game that, as a trans person, wonderfully encapsulates one of the many experiences trans women have. I can highly recommend this to both trans folk and allies, especially the latter that may want to understand a little better. While it may just be one example, it's a good one!
