About
Twelve individuals with deeply developed characters, whose destinies are intertwined in one terrible night that you have to endure.

However, catching a maniac, unraveling his secrets and motives is not all. Initially, you came to the meeting with a specific purpose. Find yourself a mate. And perhaps it is in such a critical, terrible situation that your hero will be able to find love.

A murder mystery in which a single response changes the killer and the victims. The story focuses around a man who is forced to participate in speed dating by his sister. The event is held in a charming tiny hotel beside a lighthouse. Several guests arrive, and everything is going smoothly. But suddenly a terrible storm hits, forcing everyone to stay until it passes. Unfortunately, one of the guests is stabbed, so the night will be restless. All indications point to the killer being one of the hotel's guests. Although you can choose a difficulty before starting a new game, the gameplay is classic visual novel. The biggest difference is that the harder difficulty disables saving and visible karma, which is simply a list of all characters and how they feel toward you. Saving isn’t really that important because the game isn’t long. The artwork is black and white with minor colorful details, giving the game a unique look. Another plus is that each character has their own voice. They have an accent, but it doesn't take away from the enjoyment. Because the game was most likely translated from the original language into English, the text occasionally seems awkward. The story doesn’t suffer much because of it, yet it is visible. A mouse is used to navigate between locations. It's not an adventure game because the interaction points are obvious and there isn't much content. When you hover over something essential, the cursor changes, but only a few spots can be examined. Conversations with characters are crucial to the gameplay. Unlike most visual novels, each dialog contains plenty of options that aren't just preset responses. What you say matters since each choice adds or subtracts karma points associated with a person. If you go with hard difficulty, you won’t see these points. Because characters have distinct personalities, you must try to guess what they want to hear. When you ask the incorrect questions about the murder and accuse individuals of being the killer, it's quite easy to damage a relationship. It's impossible to make everyone like you, especially when people keep dying. Depending on your answers, different people will die. This takes the plot down many different routes, not all of which end nicely. There are numerous circumstances in which you die as a result of sticking your nose somewhere or making the wrong choice. The game is designed to be played multiple times in order to see everything. A minor stumbling hurdle is a custom engine that lacks a good skip function. Like any other visual novel, you can skip previously visible text, but there is a little delay each time, making the experience slower than clicking a mouse.
Review updated after the game's major update 1.7. One Eleven is a 'whodunit' type visual novel. Our character, Hugh, goes on a speed dating event that happens in a venue on an island. However, just after the event finishes, a terrible storm begins, destroying the only bridge leading to the island, so we're all cut off from the rest of the world for the night. But that's only the start of our nightmares, because soon enough we discover that one of us has been killed and there's a killer among us. It is a pretty great idea to have this kind of mix of a murder mystery story surrounding a group of 12 people and some romance building. Moreover, the order in which the characters become victims is semi-random each time you play, which really increases replay value. A single playthrough isn't too long and so it's not a chore to replay the game and try some other decisions. The way the game creates a variety of events that can occur is impressive, although the story still is pretty linear, and the same sequence of main events will occur regardless of what you do (aside from the game over and early endings). And unfortunately this does mean that the plot of the game is a lot more on the rails than it seems at first glance. After the most recent major update (1.7), more choices on how to act at key points in the story have been provided, which is a huge plus, because before that as a player I felt pretty powerless to change the main course of events. Some of those new scenes are pretty tense and nicely executed! In some ways, some characters still act illogically, because in a situation like this, the most logical thing would be for everyone to stick together, but many characters still split up and go off somewhere on their own. But since we have more choices now, there's a bit more player agency than before. There are at times chances to freely roam the area, collect clues, and talk to other characters. But make your actions count during these moments, because there's a hidden limit to how much you can do before the story progresses. The game is partially a romance-building story too. After the most recent, much needed, major update, it is now possible to get a happy ending with your chosen girl if you act wisely and do the right choices (this was not possible for all the girls prior to the update). Mostly, you don't have to solve the murder mystery if you don't wish to, although you can go around and gather clues, and that does hugely help you later on and opens up some important choices. There aren't really any puzzles or mini-games, aside one (which prior to the update was poorly executed and required a lot of trial and error, but now there are hints present which make it more manageable; depending on your choices, you might not necessarily come across it altogether). The game does create a pretty amazing atmosphere with the use of incredibly stylish art of the characters, and a highly interesting use of colour, with each character having their own unique colour. The moody and unsettling music also really helps to increase the sense of mystery once the murder plot begins. And then there's voice acting... So the game can be played in two languages - English and Russian. Unfortunately I've found that English voice acting is pretty subpar and below average, and clearly feels that it was spoken by non-native speakers. So merely half an hour into the game, I couldn't stand it as it was pulling me out of the game. So I started the game over from the beginning in Russian (lucky for me, I can understand it). The Russian voice acting is much better. So if you can understand Russian, just play in Russian. If you can't, you might have to endure the English voice acting, or switch voice acting to Russian but keep text in English (kind of like watching a foreign movie with subtitles). Overall, I really enjoyed the premise and had a fun time playing through this game! It's a pretty ambitious idea, with a tonne of potential. The new major update has greatly improved the overall execution and provided a bit more player agency during key moments. It's understandable though that the game was made by a very small indie dev team, and even though there are aspects that can be criticised, in general what they've achieved with this game is pretty spectacular. I think they certainly should feel proud of their work. Not to forget, make sure to buy the 18+ content DLC as well if you want the additional romance scenes with the ladies that are spicy and hot.
Interesting game, I want the story to continue +++

It's a good game. It has flaws, that I will briefly list, but they don't undermine the overall experience (for my taste). Pros - Interesting story and characters - There are some random things that influence the story, which is kind of an innovation for the genre - Choices do count - Unique artstyle - No nonsense (if someone acts weird, other characters will notice) - Short (you will not lose your time with unimportant dialogue and boring stuff) Cons - Bad voice acting (not really important in my opinion, I was surprised that it even had VA, which is a plus) - Some bugs in the texts - Some spelling mistakes - The "mistery" part of the game is not complete, it's more of an horror story than about investigating, but that's fine, just keep in mind that you are not going to feel like Sherlock Holmes. I think that this is worth your time if you like dating sims with a dark side, but I would buy it at heavy discount, since it is pretty short (but replayable). For the devs: I think you did a good job with the game, but yeah, since the game gives an investigation type of vibe, it would be cool to be able to use what you discovered to make an accusation in the end, and then have an ending that depends on if you were right or not. This chapter just ends with
someone just straigth up explaining who is supposed to be the killer, but you will not have any confirmation that the assumption is correct
, so you will neither be able to make an accusation nor see if you were correct about your suspicions
One Eleven is a detective visual novel with dating sim elements. You play as Hugh, a guy who builds birdhouses. After reading about speed dating in newspaper, he decides to go, thinking it’s a way to pass the time. What could possibly happen? A heavy rainstorm that cuts off all escape routes, and a maniac hidden among eleven strangers. Your mission is to gather evidence, uncover the killer, and the most important to survive. The game features a varied and pleasant soundtracks, visuals in a noir style and 2 difficulty levels. It’s also fully voiced (not perfect, but overall decent enough). Your choices significantly impact the narrative and your relationships with other 11 characters. All characters are unique, each with their own distinct traits and style. The game offers several endings, and it’s worth noting that the killer is randomly generated
(not among all)
, so it can be a different character in your various playthroughs. Overall, I can say that this game is pretty good, featuring a nice story, plenty of achievements to unlock, and there also a +18 DLC.
