I cannot recommend this game, it doesn't even seem to be the same game as the one shown in most of the videos/screenshots in this store page. As of September 2023, only the 2nd video shows real gameplay, the other video and 9 screenshots seem to be from a different game. I believe those belong to the Remastered version, which was announced on September 2022 (1 year ago) in the Related News link. It doesn't seem that this game has ever been upgraded to the remastered version though, and I couldn't find that version anywhere online either. The game itself is under 10 minutes long, you basically fly around a deserted island following waypoints to gather 5 stone tablets, once you get the last one, there is nothing else left to do, the rest of my playtime was me trying to visit every part of the desert to see if there was any more content - couldn't find any. The graphic style looks nice and the music fits perfectly, the music is probably the best part of the game. There are little to no animations, and almost no physics being implemented at all, you can walk/fly under water, most objects have no collision detection, and even the jumping button only works randomly when riding the magic carpet. There is no menu either, the pause screen only shows the controls and a button for exiting the game. Since this <10 minute game seems to be a demo, rather than the game being displayed throughout most of the store page, I cannot recommend it.
A very atmospheric and heart catching game, really plays deep on my soul. The soundtrack is extremely well fitting and creates the vibes. I liked the views of desert and the game runs pretty smooth as you would expect from 700mb. My main desire is for devs to add more content to it and not leave it as it is. My twitch followers also found the game extemely compelling and this is definitely a gem material.
While the game is visually appealing and the concept is nice (sometimes I just want a game I can zone out in), I do wish there was more content to do. Perhaps I didn't give it a fair chance, but it tells you to follow the way points, and once you complete that there really isn't anything to do beyond running around looking at stuff. While the game does have a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing what the devs do with it moving forward, it feels very much incomplete. Something they should implement in the future is 'invisible walls' because when i was exploring, I decided to test to see if I could go into the water. there were dunes there that were only half present, and I was able to just jump off into the abyss with no way to return other than restarting the entire thing.
Having worked many years ago in the game industry, and taught concept design at the high school and college level, I like to try out unique games. Though this game is not really unique, it being a simple puzzle adventure style game, it is however a small group's first attempt and as such is deserving of some support. The music is very good, the player character simple but effective, and the overall premise of the game has potential, reminding me of an early version of 'Journey'. Hopefully they continue on with the game's development allowing it to reach its full potential.
I have tried for an hour to get past the introductory portion of the game. The tablet is formed from the fragments scattered about, and then... nothing. I float to and fro without any furthering objectives or objects to interact with. The map is locked into a small world. The screen shots in the store page do not match what I have seen (yet), which is sad because it looks intriguing. I uninstalled and reinstalled it in an attempt to access what comes next... nothing. I also reached out for help in the discussion forums and have yet to hear back from fellow players or the devs. I bought it on sale, fortunately; it was bought at a nominal cost so it wasn't worth pursuing a refund.
