Occultus: Daughter of Darkness

Occultus: Daughter of Darkness was a hidden gem for me. I would not have found it if not for the NSFW Valentine’s Day sale. I was intrigued by the game description, a noir-inspired detective story with supernatural elements, and the screenshots of the female protagonist, Jane Malady. Of course, the great sales discount helped as well, but the regular price is still a bargain. I was drawn in by the well-written story and characters. If I didn’t have to sleep, I would have kept playing in one sitting. As it was, it took me 10 hours to finish the first playthrough and 15 hours total to complete all of the endings and achievements. The worldbuilding was fantastic. I was impressed with how the vampire lore was laid out and explained. While there are meaningful choices, the main story is fairly linear, only the love interests and certain events change. There are a few minor typos, but the writing is well-polished for the most part. Some renders were too dark and some were overblown, but there were only a few of those. I look forward to the upcoming sequel.

Great, captivating story

Visuals, and scene angle are great (some are wallpaper worth). The choice do matter to the end. Story is interesting after getting in the middle progres, because It boring at the beginning, Characters are well designed, not overly designed ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) [spoiler]the body part[/spoiler] most of their faces are beautiful and their personalities are very likable. The atmosphere and design fits the dark theme. it's really a hidden gem, a very good AVN for the price. Recommended.

The story, the atmosphere, the world and the characters are simply brilliant. I absolutely loved playing as a heroine – a private detective, no less. The investigation gets straight to the point, without beating about the bush. The narrative gaps are used to great effect. Finally, a game that sees it through to the end! Looking for next Mal's investigation.

i haven't gotten very far regardless of what my record shows lol but so far i really like it. its got a good story, great character designs and best of all i LOVE how self aware it is lol. i'v played through quite a few really good AVNs, like REALLY good ones but none of them where as self aware as this one. so far i came across 2 of such moments and the second one made me laugh cause of how funny it was. with out spoiling any thing it was the talk between Malady (the MC) and Velvet during their first meet.(you'll know the moment when you see it). not sure yet if they talk a second time. haven't got that far yet.

I'm only 16 minute in, and I already can tell I'm going to like this game. You can tell the difference from other game just by the writing. An hour in, and I'm liking the game more. and finally a game with normal looking girls One of the few game where the main character is able to think about something else than sex. That is rare. Highly recommended unless you are only her for the sex. I don't think there is a female on a guy sex in this game, I haven't finished it yet, and I don't mind at all. In fact I like it probably more than I should. 7 hours in and there is vampires involved and you have to make choices.
