Reviews
I couldn't finish the game myself because of my lack of skills, but I'm gifting it to others to spread the word about how fun it is.
Hard but I like it on very easy lol. Kinda Mortal Kombat meets metroidvania. Bit of that euro jank charm throughout. A triumph!
how do you describe perfection ?
Good
One of the most entertaining and satisfying games to play in a long time. Love everything about it from the vibes, to the controls, the platforming, the combat, and the very ps1 era feeling dialogue if you are on the fence of buying this, do it because there is a lot of meat to this game. You can really dig in.
The visual style for this game is so amazing. It impresses me how much time they alone took to make as well as how they can be tied to the lore itself. Definitely should be checked out for those who enjoy a fun, voice-acted solo adventure, especially with all the delightful FMV sprites.
I've been able to get through the first few levels and I like it a lot. I just wish I had more time to really get into it.
MASTER PIECE
Edit: Ending was great. Absolute gem of a game hope it gets some more exposure. When I first saw this announced I was like this looks so old school stupid it's probably going to be good. It is. 100%. The voice acting actually surprised me for how good it is. There's a lot to love about this game if you can appreciate some silliness, heavy parrying, a lot of platforming, puzzles, and some difficulty. It's a fightervania, something I would love to have more of so this was an appreciated find for me as it goes nicely with vernal edge and demonaica. I refused to get off normal mode at first. It's a bit tough, you'll die a lot. That first boss is one hell of a gatekeeper but it's good practice for getting used to parrying and dealing combos. Once you're past that the game opens up a bit and things get significantly easier if you're looking for secrets. You will have to parry a lot, and you'll have to get used to your combos otherwise you'll have a bad time. The lower difficulties makes everything forgiving though and I've admittedly been using it after tiring out from running it back to several puzzle rooms, and I mean this game has tons of little puzzle platforming segments. The only general negative thing about this game that I wouldn't let bother you: - the pause menu ui and map design is as bare as it gets. Despite that, there's plenty of information to get from combos and the guide, and every room conveniently has check boxes for hidden treasures which ends up being a huge plus. I found the map to be pretty funny though despite how bare it is. - The voice acting is extremely well done and the story ends up being far more compelling as a result. It's rare that I'm not just reading past the characters and moving on and I found myself just letting them say everything because of how good and funny it is at times. There's a lore reason for the map jank that I ended up just finding really funny as well. - The controls are great. Combat is surprisingly solid and the platforming is floaty but not entirely terrible. A lot of it is momentum based so how you double jump will make a big difference in distance gained and all that. the zoom in/out function makes a big difference in certain platforming segments and combat. There are some pretty bad bugs that hopefully get fixed down the line. One of the save rooms in the tunnels has a southern exit and you always get stuck sliding around exiting that way. You'll find it's easy to get stuck and start sliding in a loop off exit ledges and things like that as well. I've been able to escape after enough spamming in every case but there should probably be an escape button in the menu for things like that.
