About
NTE is a supernatural open-world RPG developed by Hotta Studio. The story begins in the city of Hethereau, where you play as its first "unlicensed" Anomaly Hunter. You'll join the crew at Eibon, a rundown antique shop that keeps the lights on by taking Anomaly commissions from anyone willing to pay. Alongside a diverse cast of extraordinary companions, you'll unravel urban mysteries, ride out adventures full of laughs and heartbreak, and write your own stories in the neon-lit streets.
Welcome to the first stop in your appraisal career—Hethereau, a sprawling and vibrant metropolis!
In the crowded halls of the Bureau of Anomaly Control, hopeful Oddities queue up for resident permits, while over at the train station, an Esper commuter snaps his fingers to clean his work suit on the fly. Down one block, a chaotic chase after Danzaburou is spiraling out of control; while across the street, a vacationing silver-gloved Butler is shooting the breeze with the owner of a second-hand electronics shop. Everywhere you look, there's no shortage of intriguingly "abnormal" scenes.
Want to dive deeper into a world where humans and the supernatural coexist? Start your journey in Hethereau to see it for yourself. The lively and quirky daily life here is a grand adventure in itself.

Most people here seem to focus on the fact that it's a gacha game, many say it's a better gacha game than many other big titles. Here's the perspective of someone who enjoys attention to details and doesn't like or care about gacha at all: It's a well-made game; so well made that it scares you sometimes. While some people get suck in the gacha mechanics, or character comps, or some surface shine, that stuff is barely the tip of the iceberg. I got the game because I was bored and disappointed with Forza Horizon 6 after a few weeks. I'm not a weeb, I barely watch anime, ever. I like Japan, and I like exploration, and this game not only offered exploration, but the urban kind. Just like that, I got pulled in. And you're lucky like me and can look past the millions of free rewards and bonuses and shop items and many many different types of currencies, you get to see this game for what it truly is: A deep and passionate attempt at creating a dream game that almost has every part and feature you had wished in every other games. It's like the backrooms, conceptually; but things do fit together and make sense and it's not just random pieces hallucinated together. That's what makes it so scary how well made the game is. I believe the gacha aspect of the game merely exists to sustain its development as a completely free game, which btw, doesn't stop you and force you to pay at a certain point either. It just keeps going forever! So if you ignore the flashy surface level gacha things; you'll find yourself deep in a world with an extremely well written story, music that ranges from happy anime stuff to incredibly moody and dark tracks, and set pieces, mechanics, incredible dialogue, voice acting and animations that comes together in a mesmerizing fashion to mimick every game that ever existed, at once. The story, especially starting around chapter 4 and onward, becomes every very compelling and I'm not ashamed to say that even someone as dead-inside as myself, could shed a tear at some points during chapter 4 and 5 when some stuff are revealed. Oh and one important thing; experience the game in the Japanese voices. I'm not familiar with the Chinese language and am neutral to it, but the English voices with such a dialogue can be very very weird, at least to me. Not to take anything away from the English voice actors, but just play with the Japanese voices and enjoy the ride! p.s. bugs do exist and sometimes soft locks can occur in the mission, but there's no crashes or anything that can't be solved by a quick reload or just going to the main menu and returning back in. Pretty stable for what Unreal Engine 5 can offer; although traversal stutters occur sometimes.

is gud
Very good game despite the few bugs still less then some AAA titles. Some people lost their mind over posters and billboards in the background being AI generated, so they removed those and put in ones created by human artist but people still cry about things even when they admitted it and corrected it. That being said I 100% recommend this free game.
The in-game mini-games are infuriatingly difficult, featuring levels designed to be hard just for the sake of it, alongside various bugs that disrupt the experience. It’s clear the developers just threw these together without a thought for optimization, balance, or difficulty tuning. Despite constant feedback via surveys since launch, nothing has improved. I honestly want to fly to China, track down the dev team, and make them play the sh*tty mini-games they created—and slap them across the face every time they make a mistake.
