"Noir Punk" is a small and simple 2D side view adventure game with amateurish 2D papercutout style graphics and a somewhat cringey attempt to recreate a film noir feeling through the medium of rather crap graphics and presentation. It doesn't work, and the game was a big failure on Steam Direct. The game is quite short, and can be run through in just 30 minutes. The lack of content here makes it hard to suggest it's worth spending the time to add to your library and download. The graphics aren't great, 2d paper cutout stuff that makes South Park look like Rembrandt. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Even as a free game, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of [b]only 5 players[/b], it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't pay people to spend time playing this. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? This one scores a "nope". While it won't necessarily cost you money, the time and hard drive space it requires could be better invested in one of the many higher quality alternatives on Steam.

Игра Noir Punk погружает в мрачный, пропитанный неоном мир киберпанка, где каждый выбор имеет вес. Атмосфера загубленных надежд и высоких технологий захватывает с первых минут. Стиль игры — это отдельная песня: контрастные тени, дождь, отражающий огни города, и саундтрек, идеально дополняющий ощущение безысходности и экшена. Геймплей предлагает интересное сочетание стелса, перестрелок и диалогов, где каждое решение может изменить ход истории. Персонажи глубокие и неоднозначные, с собственными мотивами и секретами. Не сказать, что игра идеальна – иногда встречаются мелкие недочеты в управлении или балансе, но общее впечатление от погружения в этот жестокий мир превосходит ожидания. Это крепкий представитель жанра, который точно понравится любителям нуара и киберпанка.

This game was a damn hoot! Puzzles are on the easier side, the story is good and has some twists, the art is great and the humor is on point. Feels like a Looney Tunes episode. I loved it. Absolutely give this one a try!
