★★★★★ I bought this game thinking it would help me identify who is human and who isn't. Unfortunately, it did not prepare me for the real threat: **MY STEAM FRIENDS.** You see someone who looks cool? Probably not human. You see someone who's funny? Suspicious. You see someone who's badass? Definitely a Visitor. And then there's this one guy. He's cool. He's funny. He's badass. Absolute legend. But he's **ALWAYS INVISIBLE.** Online? Invisible. Playing a game? Invisible. You literally KNOW he's online? **INVISIBLE.** At this point I don't know whether he's human, a Visitor, or some kind of advanced lifeform that has evolved beyond Steam's online status system. The game tells you to inspect people carefully and look for signs that they're not human. Brother, I don't need the game. I've been investigating this mf's Steam profile for months. **Verdict:** I still don't know who's human. I only know that my friend is either a Visitor or the final boss of being invisible. 10/10. Would distrust my friends again. also i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ needed AI to tell you all about him

I get the point but dialogue should be more mechanically relevant.
i’m not a human feels like the kind of game that was made to make you question every person you meet, including yourself. i managed to get two endings. in one, i threw myself into the hole alone. in the other, i survived with the people i chose to shelter. i had the firefighter, the foreigner, the neighbor’s daughter and the blind young man in my house. somehow, i was lucky enough to keep most of the humans alive and i had very few visitors. apparently, being paranoid and suspicious of absolutely everyone finally paid off. and honestly, i related to the protagonist way more than i expected to. i’m an introvert, almost an hermit sometimes. i have an unhealthy amount of distrust, a complicated relationship with my father, and i struggle with depression too. so playing this game felt strangely personal. i felt represented by the protagonist’s way of seeing the world, and maybe that’s why i found it so easy to navigate the game without getting myself killed every five minutes. the entire game is a work of art. the mechanics, the survival strategies, the different personalities, the little details you have to notice. but the graphics are probably what stayed with me the most. everything looks suffocating and heavy. everyone is unsettling, whether they are human or visitor. there is something wrong in every face. and i think that is exactly what makes it work so well. the game never asks you to trust someone just because they look human. you have to build that trust through the days you survive together, through conversations, through the absence of symptoms, through all those tiny pieces of evidence that slowly make you think, maybe this person is safe. i do wish i knew more about the lore, though. where did the visitors actually come from? why did the sun suddenly become so catastrophic? who was the prophet, and how did he know so much? and why did i spend half the game feeling like the fema was secretly working against the humans? but at the same time, i think the fact that i don’t have the answers is part of why i love it. some things are better left unanswered. the game gives you enough pieces to build your own theories, your own explanations, your own little epiphanies. and somehow, that makes the world feel even bigger. 10/10 game. would absolutely distrust everyone again.
