An astonishing historical tale of love, treachery and piracy. First, this confirms many people's long-held beliefs that mermaids really do exist. The obvious problem is surely in how they procreate and reproduce owing to the slimey wet fish body from the waist downwards. This is doubtless why there are so few of them and like Murray, people need to turn into fishy people to be able to get close to these mermaids. So being a fishy person is no bad thing unless one goes too far and then ends up being a praetorian. Yes, it's all here in this tale (or should that be 'tail'?).

This is a decent hidden object, adventure game. Although it is more then 10 years old and unfortunatly no longer available to buy on steam. I do recommend playing this game if you have it in your library, or buy it for a few € IF it ever comes back. I think this second part of the game is better than the first. Some of the same puzzles, but also enough new things to discover. Only negative is that for the achievements you have to play the game twice, ones with hidden objects and a second time for the mayjong games.

In a lot of ways, this game does a lot of things right when you are looking for a decent Hidden Object Game. The graphics are well done with lots of animation and detail in the scenes. Cutscenes and story are enjoyable - although voices for a few characters are odd (old man blocking the tavern, please stand!). Puzzles are logical and work as expected, and the alternate method of solving hidden objects is relatively painless. Even gathering collectibles is done well, although you do have to do multiple playthroughs to get all achievements. Still, pretty much the type of game you want to play when indulging in hidden object searches. 8.5 out of 10 fish filets!

I remember playing Nightmares from the Deep on my mum’s PC when I was younger. It left such a vivid impression on me that when I saw the demo on the Microsoft Store, I knew I had to try it again. After all those years, I couldn’t stop wondering how the full story would unfold and what surprises were hidden in the depths of the game. What I loved the most about the Nightmares from the Deep series is the pirate story at its center. The game follows Captain Remington, a cursed pirate brought back to life, and his story immediately pulled me in. His past, connected to forbidden love and dark magic, kept me curious as I played. The cursed ships, Skull Island, and hidden treasures made the exploration exciting. Solving puzzles and hidden object scenes to uncover more about Remington and the curse felt like being part of a real pirate adventure. It’s a story that’s stuck with me ever since. Fun fact: I had to buy this game, but since it was no longer available on the Steam store due to copyright issues, I ended up purchasing a key. Surprisingly when I looked for it, a single key for the game was ridiculously overpriced. However, I discovered that buying a bundle with multiple games (including this one) cost less than just a few bucks lol.
