A Night In Riverager is a free horror short set in the monochrome world of My Beautiful Paper Smile. It tells the tale of a strange hunter in an even stranger land, on a quest to find medicine for his ailing mother. Strange and powerful forces are stirring. Can he resist them?

I know it says it's only a short, but this felt more like playing an unfinished demo than a proper game. I seriously would've loved to have written a longer review about this but there's hardly anything to say about it because you can complete it in about 10 minutes, even if as of writing this my play time is 38 - none of you can point that out, for only myself and those who bribe me with food have "wise guy" privileges. Right, now that that's out of the way, time for the review even though there's not a whole lot to say here - hopefully I'll find a way to drag it on so I can insert as many bad jokes as possible to make others suffer, so that I may feed my sadistic and arrogant attitude and hence increase my ego beyond reason. For some reason, the graphics and style remind me of Bendy and the Ink Machine. The atmosphere is incredibly eerie, and gives a constant feeling of isolation, thus giving a pretty creepy theme to go with, but sadly it doesn't really go anywhere due to how short the game is. I can't say anything about the story because there doesn't seem to be much to it, and I played without knowing it's a prequel to My Beautiful Paper Smile (which I have not yet played) - maybe it would've all made more sense if I had played that first but I don't know. Guess either way that really just goes to show how broke I am. Anyway, Night in Riverager isn't much special, and honestly there's hardly anything to say about it other than that it feels incomplete and the atmosphere and visual style are both pretty good, but if you're reading this then chances are you have nothing better to do, so yeah, may as well give it a go.

Night in Riverager is an okayish and very short horror, point and click game and an okay companion to my beautiful paper smile, now story. A hunter leaves home in order to gather medicine for his ailing mother. The likes, the graphic art style is still as good as my beautiful paper smile. The levels were okay nothing too grandiose pretty simple. The story was okay I like that we got a little bit of back story on the Hunter. The gameplay is okay you just click on a few things until you get to the end. The characters were okay honestly I really wished we could have found out more about the mom and the Hunter. The soundtrack was nice and fits the game well. The atmosphere was good, nice and spooky which gave me some good chills. Now is the game scary, actually yeah definitely makes you unnerved as you play this very short game. The dislikes, the game is a bit too short I mean I feel like a bit more could have been done with it, like with its story and gameplay, now I'm not saying it should be like super long but at least an hour would have been better, also the game needs some achievements even if it's a simple you've made it to the end achievement. Okay now that I am done with that Night in Riverager is an okayish and very short horror, point and click game and an okay companion to my beautiful paper smile, with a good graphic art style, okay story and a good atmosphere. Now do I recommend this game not really, I mean it's an okay little side story to play after my beautiful paper smile and its free so you don't have to worry about that, but it's not needed for you to understand the first game’s story.
I just randomly found this in my library one day. I don't know where it came from, probably from the nether regions.

Eh, do you need to blow about 20 minutes? It's fine. I wish it was an actual game.
Mroczne, krótkie (bardzo), za darmo.
