Another one in the Stanislaw Truchowski's horror series. Night at the Office follows about the same formula as most of his other games. It's a bit longer than usual (Snafu excluded - which was really great in my opinion, just saying). Expect two to three hours for full completion. There's a checkpoint about halfway through the story which also acts as a branch-off point to get all endings, including the 'secret' one. This case, you're on a floor in some office building. There's again some paranormal things going on. Some of the scares are really good, including a few effective audio scares. There's the famous safe again, a few light puzzles and some objects to look for. There's a little bit of aimlessly walking around hoping to find the spot to trigger the next event although most times you'll get a hint as to where to go next. The automated lights 'to save energy' makes everything a bit more scary as you can't see what's coming. That was a nice touch. Liked it. Normally I don't give scores, but to give a fair indication and considering the cost, I'd say it's a fine 7 out of 10. A small hint about the secret ending, because it took me ages to realise something very simple and important:
not everything resets after finishing the game and reloading the chekpoint.
EXCELLENT! This game was creepy in the best possible way. So much Fun and just the right amount of jump scare and gore. Just enough mystery to the story. Bravo can't wait for more!
Review at the bottom. This was actually a surprisingly good game. I seen it only had 20 reviews so i thought it was just gonna be a meh game but i gave it a shot and it was done surprisingly well for such a small game. Audio was pretty well done and the graphics were pretty good. transitions seemed pretty smooth and jump scares got me pretty good. On top of all that the atmosphere was pretty unsettling and had you wondering if something was gonna happen or not. I will say i wasn't able to figure out some of the puzzles and even looked around for about an hour with no progress to try and figure it out. But I couldn't and it seems even people on youtube cant either so good luck with that. Overall I'd rate this game a solid 7.3 out of 10 https://youtu.be/279YqTYpa1c?si=JEr-ymMBY1znCRKc
Solid game. You can really tell how well TurnVex handles timing and atmosphere. Every time I thought I was stuck, something would suddenly happen. The horror was decent at times, even if some parts were quite predictable. The jumpscares were mostly well used. However, the puzzles in this entry were a bit too difficult. For one of the endings I actually had to use a guide. The writing was overall rather weak and not very memorable, but the ending still managed to redeem quite a bit in the end.
the 'true' endings in this guys games are always locked behind outrageously opaque and obscure 'clues' and relies on bad sound design (its way too loud, and too many shrill ringing and alarm sounds, its not fun, its loud and obnoxious) and a repettive game loop that's gotten wrose from his earlier entries. This one is more just 'wander in a PT loop until something jumpscares you while mashing the use key'. The plot is obvious from like 20 seconds in, recycled form the girl with the cloth face basically.
i'm sure it's a good game. But I hit quit by accident and it does not even aske you if you are sure to quit. So i had to start over and that is a big no for me. especially in an horror game where there is no point to start over
Another well crafted horror experience from this developer! Truly terrifying from start to finish. I've played almost every game by Stan, and each one has consistently creeped me out with its setup, sound design and atmosphere. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next!
