About
Neverending AI Storybook runs all its AI magic right on your machine—which means:
🎮 You’ll need a dedicated GPU with 8GB VRAM or more, like an RTX 2060 or RX 6600.
🔥 Bonus: It works on both NVIDIA and AMD cards, so don’t worry if you're rocking a Radeon.
🧠 A fast SSD is also helpful but not required—this thing moves big models around (2.5GB+) and needs fast storage to keep up.
We support a wide range of cards from roughly 2020 and onward, so if you’ve got a fairly recent gaming rig, you're probably good!
Every adventure is unique. Every image is AI-crafted.
No servers. No subscriptions. Just endless storytelling, powered by local AI that responds to your imagination.
Features:
• 🧠 Fully local, private AI-generated stories — no internet required
• ☁️ Cloud based model option (Google Gemini (not private, requires your own API key)) for users with slower hardware
• 🖼️ AI-generated art for every scene, with customizable visual style
• ⚖️ Your choices matter: pick from actions or type your own
• 🎮 No subscriptions required for local generation, no limits — just unlimited adventures
• 🔒 100% private when generated locally — nothing leaves your machine
• 🪛 Load your own AI Text models — supports GGUF via llama.cpp
• ⚙️ Powered by llama.cpp & Stable Diffusion — zero setup required
• 🧩 Works with both NVIDIA and AMD GPUs (see system requirements)

Option to use cloud/online models instead of local (Google Gemini right now, more to come soon!)
Allows users with slower/incompatible GPUs to enjoy the game too
NOTE: Optional Cloud based models are not private. Your story data is shared with the cloud provider to generate your story and images.
Neverending AI Storybook scales to fit your hardware. Whether you have a mid-range gaming laptop or a high-end desktop, you can select the AI model that balances speed, creativity, and accuracy. You can even disable image generation for maximum speed.
✔ 8GB VRAM (RTX 2060, RX 6600 or better) – Runs smaller models for quick storytelling.
✔ 12GB+ VRAM (RTX 3060, 3070, or better) – A great balance of quality and speed.
✔ 24GB+ VRAM (RTX 4090, 3090, or equivalent) – For the most expressive AI-generated stories.
No requirement for cloud servers or subscriptions—everything can run right on your machine.
Just pick a model that fits your setup and start generating stories!

I like that this program is effectively a plug-and-play option for perhaps less technically inclined people who want to start experimenting with AI and storytelling/RPG. Built-in image generation is fantastic and something I've been looking for for a long time (it works with koboldcpp but only if you use the koboldcpp front-end, AFAIK you can't use that function if you are using an api for a different wrapper for it). The price is not terrible, especially on sale, which I might recommend to watch out for just due to the relatively early state that NAIS is in right now. That being said... Yep, I recommend. Eagerly looking forward to the improvements that the devs implement. And also looking forward to a possible "spicy" version at some point :)
The game offers a unique interactive storytelling experience, where players can shape personalized stories based on their choices. Each session is a new adventure, with dynamically generated narratives and illustrations created by AI.
Pretty interesting and I think has potential. For 2 bucks it's a Choose Your Own Adventure book on the subject you give it. As as kid I'd have gone nuts over this.
After getting some help from the developer, I changed my review to a thump up, but the old one will still be at the end for reference. Generating a story with AI whenever you feel like it, is a great idea. Now the program generates decent stories, that are more fun to read, because I have fewer repetitions in the generated text. I downloaded another text model, like advised, and the stories are better now. The generation still takes some time, but it is worth a try. There are a lot of different settings, to keep things interesting. Thanks for the support, Chris! Old review: I think the idea of a randomly generated text adventure is great, because it has so much potential. However, I absolutely cannot get used to the game because it has its quirks. The story contains endless repetitions of various phrases. Not even the wording changes, which gives the impression that the text was written by someone completely lacking in talent. The style is roughly what I would expect from a young teenager. If other things occur during the course of the game, and you ignore them (e.g., a companion), the game never mentions them again, which gives you the feeling that there are huge holes in the plot. The generation of the individual pages of the adventure takes forever, and with the answer options, you have to guess which option, based on the wording, does not repeat what you have already done before. I've tried it several times, but I just can't ignore the way everything is phrased; it spoils any possible fun for me.
Gives the player no actual control over the story.
Gets pretty wacky sometimes but still a lot of fun
As others have said, this gives heavy Choose Your Own Adventure vibes. I loved those books growing up and this is just as great. I look forward to seeing this game continue to expand and grow. It's great where it is now. No crash issues. Just slight wait time while the next part of the story loads. Not a long wait at all. If you are button mashing you might be causing a crash.
Neverending AI Storybook is straight-up awesome—like a choose-your-own-adventure book on steroids, but with AI magic doing all the heavy lifting. You make choices, and boom, the story changes—new twists, wild turns, and totally unique stuff every single time. One minute you’re a space wizard fighting robot dinosaurs, the next you’re solving crimes as a vampire detective. It’s all made just for you, with cool pictures and everything, right on your own computer—no internet, no subscriptions, no weird data spying. Just you, your brain, and endless epic (or completely ridiculous) adventures.
I am enjoying playing, it is interesting.
We all wish the AI was reading to us too of course. But more customization is needed. The ability to name more characters. All that stuff. But for what I paid this is very much what its saying it is. I just wish it was better :)
