NEO NEO is a super fast, brutal top-down arcade game, inspired by the likes of Hotline Miami and Super Hexagon. Use a devastating teleport ability to leap from enemy to enemy, stealing weapons and killing all in one explosive move.

I kinda have a love/hate relationship with this game, the gameplay loop is so short that you can easily get bored or frustrated with it unless you make good progress each hour you play but I pushed through and managed to do +500 score run. 6/10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtsVatZjGjQ
this game is a lot of fun when you get the hang of it and for the price it's amazing vault an instant buy from me
NEO NEO is a twin-stick shooter arcade game with lightning quick gameplay and brutal difficulty built to be as addictive and quick as Super Hexagon. What we have here is mechanical perfection drenched in soft, bright colors and a whole lot of violence. The game is very simple. You have your guns and a dash attack. When you dash into an enemy you kill it while also inhereting its weaponry. There are 5 different enemy types with slightly different weapons such as the sniper or the shotgunner. The levels are randomly generated and composed of pre-built ultra-tight corridors with giant saws and a few other traps to worry about along with the hordes of enemies. Sessions of Neo Neo are as short as 5 minutes with the world record being around 10-15 minutes, so it is perfect for picking up and playing a quick round before going about your day.
PROS
Aside from the basics, there are a good number of passive abilities to choose from in the hub world, and it doesn't seem like there's a distinct meta for which one is the best (WR holder uses Infinite Warp but I find greater success with Warp Blaster) I absolutely adore ultra fast paced arcade games, and this is one of the fastest ones I've ever played. The reflexes and quick thinking required are nuts The slowdown when you're shot at makes for a lot of very close calls against enemies that shoot bullets that travel too quickly to dodge otherwise. I like that this is less of a bullet hell and more about managing your teleports and using cover. The level generation has always felt plenty fair to me as long as youre concious about if you're able to teleport or not The presentation overall is impactful and satisfying. The crunchy sound effects and the upbeat but sorta ambient soundtrack with the soft reds, blues, grays, and whites At 0.99 USD the game is a steal
NOTES
The flashing effects enabled by default at the start of the game are way over the top for me personally. I feel like they could be toned down a bit and be fine. I also wish there was an option to disable screenshake Chaos mode should be on a seperate leaderboard from normal runs, as it stands there is no incentive to run chaos mode aside from grabbing the achievement Its worth mentioning the game has some weird optimization issues regarding harddrives and older pcs. The level generation is tied to harddrive power somehow so doors just won't open up sometimes on older hardware
CONCLUSION
Neo Neo is a fantastic little game that I'm gonna end up with way too many hours played. I recommend the game to those who enjoy very fast paced arcade games and those who want something for very short gameplay sessions
Super fun, fast-paced game with some interesting warping mechanics. Totally worth giving a try!
it's really fast. No controller support. If this looked liek it would interest you, know that it is VERY VERY fast. That's really All I have to say about it, it does its job, and is priced accordingly.
It's like being in the Matrix.
Imagine Hotline Miami pared down and condensed to its most minimalist gameplay core, then reimagined as a score attack survival game in which you push through a seemingly endless line of randomly permuted little rooms filled with baddies and other obstacles. It's even more interesting though thanks to a constantly approaching wall of death that forces you to never stop advancing, ensuring the pace of gameplay is always frantic and tension is always high. You do get a couple neat abilities to help you out: a time slowdown that auto-activates whenever a bullet or saw might be about to graze you, and a teleporter that lets you instantly telefrag any enemy you point it to and steal their weapon. Overall it's a fairly niche and uncompromising experience, and it might take a little bit to get used to the feel and flow of the game, but once you do it's surprisingly enjoyable and quite intense. And there are also a few unlockable modifiers to make runs feels more interesting and allow for better scores. All things considered though, and despite some minor rough edges, I had a lot of fun with it.
Intense, ruthless, challenging.
Great game, come join the scoreboards. Pros: skill based and fun Cons: ? At the time I'm writing this review I can't see the current and highest stages I've got, so that would be cool to be added.
