As a cat(?), explore the fantasy world and head to the exit with gathering milk. Quick respawn, high replayability. Mini-video >> https://twitter.com/hhfcurator/status/1585861702809419776
A by-the-books precision platformer. Except for the art style, there’s nothing here to push it above other titles. You control a creature that has the ability to double jump and pounce on prey to destroy it. You will travel through five themed worlds, each containing ten stages. Naturally, in order to access the next world, you must defeat the boss. You are limited to one hit. Jumping over barriers and enemies is significantly safer than using the pounce. It typically results in your death because you don't have much control after using it on the enemy and also due to the placement and design of the level. A carton of milk is hidden on every stage. You can collect it only if you find it and then bring it to the exit without dying. It doesn’t unlock anything except new images in the gallery. Exaggerated comic style with bold borders is unique and little scenes before and after each boss fight tell a nice tale of friendship. You can re-watch these scenes from the main menu at any time. The game is short and has no achievements. If you don’t care about collectibles, the game can be completed in a couple of hours.
Sadly steam forces me to either give a thumbs up or thumbs down. And while NekoNecro is certainly a solid platformer, it feels like a game directly from the early flash game era. Which is its greatest feature and flaw, because it's just super basic. Maybe 15 years ago this would have been an impressive game, but like today this is just another platformer. A list of minor annoyances that are ... well ... very minor, but make me question why I'm playing this instead of another game that gets these right: * Respawning takes 2 seconds, which is too long for a game in which you can die within a quarter of a second. * Even after finishing the whole game (200%) I still don't know why sometimes you get no vertical boost when dashing into an enemy, although this is often very important to climb some places or clear some gaps. * I also keep dying because I try to jump on enemies to kill them, but that's not a thing, you have to dash through them (I'll admit that's my own fault, but most enemies look so squishable). * And some questionable things, like one is just dropped into the first stage without any tutorial. I was very confused if I missed something? It's not very complicated, but at least show me the buttons I'm supposed to press! For what it's worth, I liked the music a lot. The optional harder challenges are indeed challenging, but again nothing to write home about. Although the game doesn't do much wrong, there is sadly no reason for me to recommend this game over any other platformer, because it just doesn't do much at all.
TRADITIONAL PLATFORMER -Accessibility options are great -Character can be a tad bid "slick" to control but this is prob by design -Music wasn't always to my liking -Crabs
There are 50 levels and 50 remix levels in this game and it was a pretty fun 2d platformer, wasn't amazing but pretty good. I think the developer succeeded in making a more casual 2d precision platformer as the point of this game was not to be as hard as super meat boy or the developers previous game but still offer a decent challenge. My problems was that it took 3 hours to get 200% and its price(understandable as this game was hand drawn, I wonder if the developer drew the same enemies many times or just drew them once and reuse them as it would save so much time). I also like the easter eggs reference to other indie games such as grapple dog for one I love seeing these indie developer collaborate with each other sometimes(cosmetics, easter eggs, npc etc.) Overall not my personal top game but I still recommend it as the developer took 4 years to make and I make this review to help Nekonecro gets more attention and for its worth I still had fun even if its short. 7/10
Beautiful, stylish and smooth! I have loved seeing this game evolve on Twitter, and great fun to play for the first time this evening :)
Cute bite-size platformer that doesn't get overly demanding :) The hand drawn black and white graphics are really striking, thinking about the amount of work that went into drawing every single onscreen thing is incredible
JUEGAZO 😎👍💛🌟
NekoNecro is an indie retro precision platformer. It's graphics are hand drawn in a comic book style, with a little bit of Yoshi's Island thrown into the mix. You'll run, jump, and pounce your way through multiple worlds and 50 levels. I bought this due to following the developer's and publisher's YouTube channels, and wanting to continue to support an independent project. PROS + The graphics are amazing. The visual style is distinct and memorable. You can tell it's hand drawn. + As with the developer's previous outing (Quickly, Quackley), the difficulty curve here is excellent. Core concepts are expertly introduced and built upon throughout the game. + The soundtrack is great, and fits well with the game's lighthearted, cartoon style. CONS - NekoNecro is a short game. I'm at just over 3 hours, and I suspect going back to grab all the collectibles will put me at 4.5 - 5 hours, tops. - Hand drawn graphics include hand drawn backgrounds and foregrounds. Sometimes it is hard to differentiate when there is a lot going on. (Backgrounds can be turned off) NITPICKS & YMMV ~ I really with the down button had a ducking animation, not for gameplay reasons, but after a hard stretch, I want to duck up and down to celebrate my victory. ~ Annoyingly, some of the optional collectibles are placed before checkpoints, and they are only collected by clearing the level. So if you hit a checkpoint, you might have to restart the level. I'd recommend this if you are looking for a short, sweet platformer with a unique visual style. Though there isn't too much replayability, you might just want to revisit this game for its style alone.
Plataforma de precisão muito bom e com um humor leve, algo refrescante na era dos excessos que vivemos. P.S.: Meu tempo de jogo está baixo pois joguei 80% dele em offline (sem internet). Meu review no YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vacfc7CGAIo
