Need for Speed™ Unbound

I genuinely tried to enjoy Unbound - car selection is pretty good, driving feels nice, story is entertaining in a cursed kind of way, and I even like the new visuals with a lot of the soundtrack. Unfortunately, despite 8 (!) major updates the game still feels unpolished - AI (both racer and police) is dumb as nails and relies heavily on rubberbanding with [i]selective[/i] collision detection, the in-game economy can get very cruel and the world just feels dead. Meanwhile online modes, while being an improvement gameplay-wise, suffer from low playerbase skewered towards high level players and people doing content on their own, so neither game mode really lets you experience racing in a more relaxed manner. Hard to imagine and it took a few tries, but Criterion did eventually manage to make a Need for Speed game and not a Burnout game, too bad all of that is dead now.
