[h2] [b] By far my favorite NFS game. [/b] [/h2]
Also one of my favorite games when it comes to the visuals. I absolutely adore the distinctive animated smoke, wings, slipstream and all of those great effects that simply gives the game personality, makes it look better and different from other racing games and are also collectibles you can earn by just playing the game, grinding achievements and customize your vehicles with.
[h2] [b] Gameplay. [/b] [/h2]
It is arcady, but it is kind of tricky to master. They added new arcady tricks with the nitro; you have the regular nitro that you charge by simply risking innocent children's lives at the wheel, like always.
But now you have a yellow nitro that you must charge, is one tap only, works as a monstrous dash which you get by chaining near misses, destroying cops or gripping/drifting curves, and it quickly vanishes if not used, so the drunker you drive, the more you can stack, the powerfuler it will be. It makes driving even more arcadish and it can also work to break laws of physics and launch you forward, even if you were drifting or loosing control, it breaks any other movement and dashes you in the direction the car is facing. You either love it or hate it; I say there are already enough arcady-kind-of-realistic driving games, so fk it, I love it.

People say it is bad. I can't say the same, not because I liked the story, but because I skippped all of that. Seriously, it is racing, we aren't here for the dialogues, why aren't yall skipping the cutscenes of a racing game?
[b] Didn't fast and furious teach you that car stories are always going to be dancing in the line between trash and ragebait? [/b] I don't understand people trying to bury the game after its bad story. Like... Dude, NFS Underground's narrative wasn't exactly the future of storytelling.
More than just that. I don't know why are developers wasting time and money giving a story to a racing game. Don't matter who you hire for it, 100% chances that it is going to be bad. And no, this criticism isn't trying to attack this game specifically but the entire genre.
[h2] [b] The bad. [/b] [/h2]
The music selection is horrible, the worst in the saga, the worst I have ever seen in a game. Worst than the trash ass track selection in the guitar hero-like fortnite gamemode.
They picked some bad sounding indie experimental trap and reggaeton in an attempt to appeal the tiktok kids. They failed doing so because tiktok kids have no brain to appeal and earned the hatred among the NFS fanbase in the process.
Not a matter of personal taste, if you personally like this game's playlist, you're probably a person with a lot going on in your life, which can be easily solved by checking into a mental hospital.
[h2] [b] The good news [/b] [/h2]
For the rest of us who are in our right minds, the fix is pretty easy: mute all music, and take advantage of the steam integrated web browser to log into your preferred music streaming platform, make yourself a neat action packed playlist for racing and shift+tab to switch tracks.
[b] I seriously think that people saying that the game handles bad or that it is boring, is because of the music. Seriously, you give this thing a nice playlist and it hits harder than cocaine. It turns the game into a dopamine's factory. [/b] I seriously recommend you to set a playlist up and muting the in-game music from the settings before playing.
[b] Even if you like trap and prove to have a taste of music so bad it should be illegalized, you're most likely going to hate the track selection on this game, it is really that bad. You've been warned. [/b]
Perhaps many of you didn't know (like me) but it seems like steam saves your browser search for each game independently. -Not sure if I turned some random button on, but at least in my case, just by entering the game and shift-tabbing I already have the browser opened there with my YT Music session logged in and the exact last track where I left it last time. And it doesn't show when playing other games, I just need to open the browser manually and it will simply go straight into the regular Google search homepage. Even if I open 20 tabs and search blue waffle (don't search that), as soon as I am back into the game, all I will see is the steam browser already open with the last song I listened while playing the last time only, it is wonderful.
[Yes, I know it is developed by EA. Yes, I know EA is a trash company that shouldn't exist. Yes, I know the game requires you to log into their ugly software. I just tend to value games for what they are, I don't like saying that a game is unplayable dogsh just because the devs aren't good people. To my eyes, the right people inside EA made a neat game, that's how I recommend this game. Been playing NFS since a kid and haven't really been liking recent ones that much until now. Many people in the reviews are just upset it has NFS in the title, let's stop trying to bury franchises just because the recent title has tried to change the direction a little bit]
