Very impressive retro style side scrolling shoot em up, Love this game!!! Gorgeous colourful pixel artwork and superb effects, Cool music & smooth controls. I am playing Story Mode for now and there is 2 other modes which is Arcade & Green Mode. 7 + Well designed Stages, Quite hard & challenging Highly addictive game play. Lots of Amazing variety of enemies & Awesome bosses to defeat at the end of each challenging stage. 20 + incredible unique weapons to collect and 4 buttons to press on Joy-Pad to select different weapons. Big fans of retro style shoot em ups, This game is a must have and an absolute joy to play. Highly recommend buy this game you will not be disappointed, Excellent work, Both Thumbs UP!!!
Right now, I think NANOFORCE isn't worth buying, but with some minor adjustments, it could be worth the money you spend. The gameplay involving four different weapons at different times is really nice, especially when you can switch between them on the fly. The plot is also intriguing, too. That being said, the bullet patterns are where the game falls flat. It feels like the bullets flood the screen, but not in a fun or engaging way. I think this is because the devs want to try and do what CAVE does with bullet hells, but the game just isn't meant to be built around that. Overall, save your money on this game unless the dev decides to change the game to be more engaging.
A fun solid, well-made, old-school retro style, horizontal shoot-em-up. Great pixel art style, lots of fun interesting weapon variety, enemy and boss types, and dynamic level layouts. Game has three play modes to choose from. Plays and responds great with a controller. The game is great fun and well worth trying out.
Quite unique shmup. very originaçl and different and hard to define. sometimes looks like a classic shmups, other times a bullet hell. There are 4 types of shoots (forward, backword, homing and special) each one assigned to a buton. Enemyes appear form every direction and the screen will autoscroll every direction, so you will have to use that arsenal. There are many different types of weapon, that you have to know when is suitable to pick up in a area. The weapons icons could be more distintive, as it is hard to memorize all the kinds of weapons. The music is great and fits well the ambience. The graphics are fairly basic , repetitive and dull , but they have good visibility. The number of stages is big and the duration of the stages could be shorter. I think the game would benefit if it was more compact. The game has a big number of credits, but believe me you will need all them, if not even more (probably should have a option to have infinite credits). The difficulty is normal for the genre (wich means hard) fair, mainly because it does not follow the traditional rules of the genre and will tajke some time to get used. The bullet patterns are weird. The game is a kitch experience, full of tecnhical limitations but a good one. fells like the creator did not want to follow the traditional rules of shmup or did not had cash, but believe me he knows the fundamentals of the genre. I strongly recomend this game if you want to play something different , but good. One advice the game it is recommended to play the game with a gamepad and not joystick . there are fire weapons for diferent directions and with the joystick button layout the control gets weird and hard
This game is a real labor of love, from someone who really respects the genre. A lot of content, a lot of ideas, and a lot of secrets! (And a lot, a lot of weapons)
Despite the minor technical issues like "stage complete" text getting too big to fit the screen, the game feels like roller-coaster, it's really fun! Also there's awesome music, captivating plot, secrets, lots of different weapons and different routes.
Quirky but excellent shoot-em-up made with Shmup Creator. A good amount of content with 2 different story modes available (which contain mostly different levels, just the first one is the same). Translation is a bit dodgy and some menu items are in French, but it's not difficult to navigate menus and storyline is a bonus in shmups anyway, right? Also, you won't believe how many different weapon types are available. Some homage other shmups like R-Type and Thunder Force, so the developer must be a fan of the genre.
A great Shmup, beautiful pixel graphics, awesome animations, an intriguing story. It is a challenging game but the gameplay is well executed and the variety of enemies and weapons you can use make it so its not a boring task, but makes you want to give it one more try after you die. One can see this is a labour of love and it shows, the dedication put in the details its there and the player appreciates it!
Nanoforce is an excellent shoot em up in both the visual style to the incredible diverse arsenal at your disposal which mixes up the strategies in which you approach obstacles. The soundtracks very complementary to each of the stages as well and left me with a very positive experience. I have yet to beat stage 7, but seeing as it took me two attempts to get the hang of mechanics and gameplay loops, I feel confident in giving it another go. Overall, a great shmup, would recommend it!
