Update: after further study, yes this is a complete abuse full of cheating and the game is responding to your behavior, intentionally trying to make it harder for you. Not possible to enjoy without paying (a lot of) real money, trust me. The creators think they're smart to abuse you so much but they are stupid failing in marketing psychology this way. Examples what's wrong: - if you struggle with one type of something (phenomenon, item, way of hiding something or whatever), they intentionally add lot more of it in response - an especially good example of the nickel-and-dime and mean design of the game and the detail in which the authors and the AI calculate to suppress you (the biggest conspiracy theorist would not think of it) is when you fail in finding all the items in a room and they are supposed to show you where the items were, they are doing their really best NOT to show you: they show it for less than a second so that you cannot really see it, failing to even convince you it was really there; sometimes they artificially highlight the item to not let you see that the item was really invisible and too much in shadow (cheating); wait there's more - they only show the item you already saw or were near to with your cursor or which from some other reason they understood you were just about to find it or they at least show the most easily findable item of all - there's really algorithm for everything to work against you, to the finest detail - when you play the match-3 mini game, you can get zero possible moves since start, then it takes even too long to reload the set and then you can get the same again and when you get possible moves it's even worse because it's useless moves in the corner - they hide items by using the cheapest cheats - fuzzing the structure into a faint shadowy smear of something, changing color into nonsensical color just to merge with background, darkening the area extremely beyond what could be seen as fair, hiding three quarters of the item etc. and don't forget they're really desperate so they often turn the item into a translucent shadow of a shape of the original item or invent a faint drawing of another item that might be called with the same word and depict it on an edge of a distant hard to recognize item - all the lists of items to search start with the most hidden items in precise order so that you get exhausted first before you can identify the other easier items - everything has deep abusive intelligent architecture just to screw you - you can work around by ignoring the list and simply clicking the items from the least visible one to the most visible one and you'll get it right without even looking what you are supposed to search - they intentionally make it impossible for you to succeed if they think you should pay, buy something or play a different part of the game or take a different playing style (I refuse to guess what the losers think) - the AI anti-player mechanism can be eventually reversed if you act like quitting and not wanting to play anymore then returning and similar tricks but I refuse to play this psychological drama and warn you don't be stupid to think you're smart to outsmart them since they are the stupids so your logic will fail in the end - if you play this game a lot, you'll start to seek the images in real world too, no jokes, that's how brain works after learning to do something so hard so many times repeatedly - when you win a free time to play without paying, the game does everything possible to stop you from profiting from the free time, so that you cannot find what you need, so that it is harder to achieve anything and if you still win, you will not be "lucky" to get the reward/item that you need - you are to be stopped at succeeding especially if you are trying to make use of the free time to progress in your story; this stops when you run out of the free time and start to pay for the time again - when you are supposed to explore a room in certain mode and you're not willing to pay enough to change the mode to fit the request, you can wait for the mode to appear after you win the room in other modes but then they move the needed mode to the end of (hidden) list of modes the room will be exercising - it's again not random but precisely against you like everything in this "intelligently" intentionally abusive "game" - when you have a task to play a match-3 mini game X-times (it's probably similar with other tasks as well), the attempts are not counted as played unless you access the mini game through the task button and visiting the task to check every time - I also experienced tasks like "Explore: Kitchen" then exploring the kitchen even winning it and at least in part of the sessions even coming from the task board directly yet the fulfilment of the tasks was not registered and I didn't receive the promised reward - offers not only pop in whole series one after another but also the same offers or screens open sometimes several times in a row, closing them only causing them to reopen - when you click on something like on the tasks board, a different screen appears like a special event's screen, which is extremely confusing and manipulative - you have to close it and try again, but I'm not complaining about pop-up here, but about the confusion that you click on one thing and a different thing opens - that's simply wrong software architecture and if it's intentional, then that's even worse Highly do NOT recommend this. Yeah, it seems possible to play for free, if you get to know it and use all possibilities, and it seems likeable, but you'll find out it is not really enjoyable in the end. Unless you pay a lot of real money, your experience will NOT be enjoyable. It's just ridiculous rigged hiding game where they hide "items" in a way so that you will never find it - as a drawing of a shadow of something that doesn't resemble anything and is two-thirds hidden behind something else, or it has a color it could never have and so on. I played one room for over an hour, I became robot in memorizing their tricks and searching for the nonsense, because they were seriously fighting me back with all force, making it more and more difficult and in the end I didn't even receive the reward for which I was playing, when I finally won it. They just FORCE their will on you, so you pay a lot or play other parts because they decide now is not the time for you to progress in some particular story or mini game. The match three mini game often is not solvable either without paying for boosters and playing it thirty times until you are lucky to actually have legal meaningful moves so you're not stuck in "scramble - no moves" rhythm and allowed to only match some useless trio in the corner. Again, I highly do NOT recommend it, please trust my review or you will first think I was wrong but later cry and see I wasn't wrong after all. Btw., did you know that if you stare at something longer, you stop seeing it? Think of it when the game forces you to stare at the easily findable items before requesting them. ;) And maybe think of how it works in your real life.

Mystery Manor: hidden objects isn't a good hidden object game. As you progress further, you are likely to feel that paying money is required. The artwork is above average though.
Bad Game, Timers, Buy Credits and Too Flashy ! Waste of time and not in a good way, Avoid !
Artificiai mobile phone energy system.. Combined with short room timers = Bad game. Don't waste your time, unless you want to spend money.
At first the beautiful artwork and challenging gameplay means you can enjoy the game and put up with the constant barrage of deals and offers asking for $$$. Eventually it becomes unplayable unless you spend and my feeling is there is AI-assisted optimisation where players are coaxed, manipulated and tempted, until they spend $$$ or give up. Ugh how good were the days when you just paid for a game and then enjoyed it without being manipulated. Update: So yeah, I'm still playing and peversely enjoying the challenge of "beating" the game without paying $$$. Even now they've put timers on the advertising of offers so you cannot close them immediately. This feels new so I think it is triggered by my stubborn refusal to cave in and spend $$$.
This could be a great game, but the developers are too greedy. The energy runs out too fast and starts requiring in-game microtransactions to continue after just a few minutes of game play. Rather than fall for this tactic, if you must play this game..just move it to another screen or minimize it and go play something else while the timer adds energy. Do not give them any money! Additionally, if you link your account to a tablet, mobile device, or pc w/ Google Play, Microsoft Store, etc..you will get so many ads and some of them slow down or stop the progress/timers in the middle of them to force you to watch them longer. If you click close or X to not watch an add to get coins, it will still often load you into ads. You have to quit the game to go back to playing without watching the sometimes lengthy ads. This is very irritating. There is also a game bug that turns the sound off for some reason. I haven't figured out what exactly keeps causing this, but it's minor compared to the ads.
Don't waste your time
basic idea of the game is fine, but description of items, placement etc, makes the game way too hard. this should be a fun relaxing game, and it definitely isnt. would NOT recommend if youre looking for a relaxing hidden object game, this is NOT the one. too many packs and ads trying to get you to buy stuff constantly. good potential, but just poor execution across the board. DO NOT BUY.
I didn't realize this game has in-app purchases. If I had, I wouldn't have installed it. I make it a point to avoid games and apps with GREEDY in-app purchases. I don't mind paying money outright for a game or app. I do mind a constant drain of my financial resources. I avoid games like that. Despite the Halloween update, I'm installing this game. Besides, the music is TOO LOUD and annoying. I don't recommend this game at all.
