Detective tales: A Study in Scarlet

PLOT London 1891, in the Whitechapel district the early morning seems like an ordinary day; the neighborhood seems to slumber a little longer, in fact there is no one around, but despite the rain the silence is broken by the arrival of a carriage carrying our Detective with his doctor friend. What happened? Why are you in such a hurry? Sherlock was alerted by a telegram sent to him by Inspector Lestrade: we need his help in the case of a strange and mysterious murder, surely our friend hound is not lazy and immediately sets off to reach the indicated address. But as soon as they find themselves in front of the scene of the crime, they understand that it is not an easy case: the killer has made a mess of the victim, eliminating the possibility of taking fingerprints and removing the head so that they cannot trace the identity of the latter. They are informed that it is a man in his fifties and that he was protected by a false identity, on his body the perpetrator has left a letter where he says he has left several clues inside and outside the house, invites him to prove what he is worth in trying to reveal them. Who is this wicked killer? And what reason drives him to play with Sherlock, in this hide-and-seek among objects, puzzles and pages with clues to look for? And above all who is the victim? What was the fault of receiving this sad fate? Our Detective is certainly not one who holds back, accepts the challenge and immediately gets to work in search of clues and evidence, like many pieces of a puzzle will fit together until you understand the real reason behind this murder . PLAYABILITY This game has no single player, but it is only possible with a friend, there is no need to create a game on the server, it simply gives us the possibility to choose whether to play Sherlock or Watson, while we will play the role of one, our friend will start the game choosing the other. If you don't find anyone, you can join the Discord group, it was created specifically to give this support. Undoubtedly, given the clues to look for and the puzzles to be solved, it is necessary to communicate via voice chat, because what we need to continue is in the hands of our friend and vice versa. The graphics are simple in 2D being in first person you will move quickly from one location to another, just click on the directional arrow; you just have to search for the active areas and once the view is enlarged, look for the secrets that are hidden. The clues will be put in the diary consult it often and carefully because you can find them the necessary help to continue in the plot. Do not expect easy puzzles, they require you to meditate on them and use a good spirit of observation in the details, surely that's what we expect from a great like Sherlorck right? The ability to perceive shades that many are unable to see. We personally did not do the whole chapter at once, but in three times, also swapping the characters and we noticed that after some clues found it saved the game automatically. If you love challenges and puzzles and you like to investigate this adventure is for you, I am waiting for the other chapters that I will surely play. RECENSIONE IN ITALIANO TRAMA Londra 1891 , nel distretto di Whitechapel la mattina presto sembra una giornata qualsiasi; il quartiere vuole sonnecchiare ancora un pò, infatti non cè in giro nessuno, ma nonostante la pioggia il silenzio è rotto dall'arrivo di una carrozza che trasporta il nostro Detective con il suo amico dottore. Che cosa è successo? Come mai tanta fretta? Sherlock è stato allertato da un telegramma inviatogli da l'ispettore Lestrade: c è bisogno del suo aiuto nel caso di uno strano e misterioso omicidio,sicuramente il nostro amico segugio non è pigro e si mette subito in viaggio per raggiungere l'indirizzo indicato. Ma appena si trovano davanti alla scena del delitto,capiscono che non è un caso facile: il killer ha fatto uno scempio della vittima, eliminando la possibilità di rilevare impronte digitali e rimuovendo la testa in modo da non poter risalire all'identità di costui. Vengono informati che si tratta di un uomo sulla cinquantina e che era protetto da una falsa identità, sul suo corpo l'aguzzino ha lasciato una lettera dove dice di aver lasciato diversi indizi fuori e dentro casa , lo invita a dimostrare quanto vale nel cercare di svelarli. Chi è questo perverso assassino? E quale motivo lo spinge a giocare con Sherlock, in questo nascondino tra oggetti, enigmi e pagine con indizi da cercare? E sopratutto chi è la vittima ? Quale colpa aveva di ricevere questo triste destino? Il nostro Detective non è certo uno che si tira indietro accetta la sfida e si mette subito al lavoro in cerca di indizi e prove, come tanti pezzi di un puzzle si incastreranno uno con l'altro fino a capire il vero motivo dietro a questo omicidio. GIOCABILITA Questo gioco non ha single player , ma è possibile solo con un amico,non occorre creare una partita nel server , semplicemente ci dà la possibilità di scegliere se interpretare Sherlock o Watson , mentre noi vestiremo i panni si uno, il nostro amico avvierà la partita scegliendo l'altro. Se non trovate nessuno , potete iscrivervi nel gruppo di Discord, è stato creato apposta per dare questo supporto. Indubbiamente visto gli indizi da cercare e gli enigmi da risolvere è necessario comunicare via chat vocale , perchè ciò di sui abbiamo bisogno per continuare si trova in mano al nostro amico e viceversa. La grafica è semplice in 2D essendo in prima persona vi sposterete velocemente da una locazione all'altra, basta cliccare sulla freccia direzionale; non vi resta che ricercare le zone attive e una volta ingrandita la visuale cercare i segreti che sono nascosti. Gli indizi verranno messi nel diario consultatelo spesso e in modo attento perchè li potete trovare l'aiuto necessario per continuare nella trama. Non aspettatevi degli enigmi facili, richiedono di meditarci sopra e usare un buon spirito di osservazione nei dettagli , sicuramente è quello che ci aspettiamo da un grande come Sherlock vero? La capacità di percepire sfumature che molti non sono in grado di vedere. Personalmente non abbiamo fatto l'intero capitolo in una volta ,ma in tre volte,scambiandoci anche i personaggi e abbiamo notato che dopo alcuni indizi trovati ha salvato il gioco automaticamente. Se amate le sfide gli enigmi e vi piace indagare questa avventura fa per voi, io aspetto gli altri capitoli che sicuramente giocherò. Also, the story plot is very interesting and we are looking forward for the next chapters. The concept of this game is very similar to We Were Here series, however you doesn't need internet connection to play together, you just need a way to comunicate with your partner. The puzzles aren´t that hard, at least in the first chapter.

玩完了试玩，比较精致的游戏，解谜不难，不过双人合作的模式很经典，且有趣味，后续会把我和朋友的双视角实况剪辑发布在Acfun上。现在制作和游玩福尔摩斯题材游戏一定都是情怀满满的粉丝了，看了一下，开发工作室好像刚刚成立？希望开发者们持之以恒，把解谜和合作部分打磨得更好，加油。

This game is genuinely a lot of fun if you like escape room/puzzle type games. You do have to check everything and click around as if you are opening drawers and checking pockets in escape room and you must work very closely with your partner. I played as Sherlock and had a fantastic time playing with my partner and it was a wonderful experience. Can't wait to see the next chapters!

Fun game to play, love the vibe and atmosphere of it. Overall it was good.

CANT WAIT FOR THE FULL GAME. the concept is so cool and the way its played is honestly genius. absolutely wish it were longer because this was so good.

Wonderful game that I thoroughly enjoyed with my partner, I know its been a long time since there's been any update to it but I would personally love to see more of this game and continue Sherlock and Watson's adventures. The puzzles were well done and not frustrating, they just take communication and paying attention but overall are neither too simple or too complex and the art style is lovely. The writing characterization of both Sherlock and Watson is also accurate to the books and it ties in a great deal of the many adventures the two share- any fans of Sherlock Holmes would enjoy this game with their own respective Watson and vice versa. Its just a shame that it is so short where it is currently because it really leaves you wanting more.
