Filled with a mix of sorrow, confusion, and rage, you decide to spend your afterlife haunting him in the hope of getting an answer from your murderer. However, you're only given more questions as you realize you're not the only ghost following him around...

20,000 words
Two endings
Unique tooltip feature to analyze others... and yourself
Original sprites, soundtrack, CGs, etc.

Myosotis contains mentions or depictions of death/dying, murder, flashing lights, a partial jumpscare, and a character kissing another character's corpse.
As a side note, there is a slight romance with one of the characters. However, it is not the main focus of the story. (The romance is not with the corpse kissing character)

It's a good visual novel. The two endings are each satisfying in their own way. Definitely worth reading through.
Beautiful visual novel, had a great time playing it. The story is great and the characters design is gorgeous!

Myosotis is a very dark and well implemented visual novel about
identity theft and murder
. The story and artwork are excellent and complementary; inevitably, given the subject matter, the text and graphics can be very disturbing at times but not gratuitous. There are two endings (and corresponding achievements), though one of them can be reached in slightly different ways. Much of my playtime was spent on finding how to reach the other ending and on getting the third achievement which requires the revealing of all 57 sub-text messages. Myosotis is a free game but, to its developers' credit, it needs no gameplay or quality allowances to be made for that.
A short, free visual novel with a nice audiovisual style, haunting feel, and some really enjoyable pop-up note/tooltips that add character and flavour while keeping the main story focused.
There is a few good things about this game and so far none even tho this is not my category of game i feel weird by the background music and tone as of now and background arts feels...lets say striaght out of a zombie movie and i feel uncomfortable from it which is good and for ethan he fits in with the tone even with the free Music its put in good use only bad thing for me that its not my type of game but i like the tone the creater was going for and if he or she continue it might make a great novel one day
Myosotis: My Life Is Not Yours to Take is a short visual novel that caught me off guard with how dark and personal its story gets. I play as a woman who has died at the hands of her former boyfriend Ethan, and instead of simply moving on, I stay behind as a ghost and start haunting him because I want answers. That setup immediately gives the story a strong reason for me to keep going, because I am not just watching someone else's mystery unfold. I am trying to understand what happened to me and why. The story is definitely the main reason I enjoyed this. There are around 20,000 words, so there is a decent amount of writing for a free visual novel, and the game gives me choices that can lead towards two different endings. I like that the choices are connected to the main themes of grief, anger, revenge and trying to find some kind of peace. It does not feel like the story is using choices just to give me different dialogue. My decisions actually fit the situation the character is trapped in, which makes the two possible outcomes feel more meaningful. One of the more interesting ideas is the phantasm system. As a ghost, I can use a special tooltip feature to examine other characters and even myself, which gives me extra information that I would not necessarily get from simply reading the dialogue. I like this because it gives the visual novel a small investigative element without turning it into a complicated detective game. There are also other ghosts involved in the story, which makes the situation more complicated than simply following Ethan around and waiting for him to reveal the truth. The presentation is another strong point for me. The original character sprites, CG artwork and soundtrack give the game its own identity, and the darker visual style fits the subject matter really well. I especially like that the game does not try to make everything look overly cheerful despite the anime inspired artwork. The atmosphere is more important than having huge amounts of animation, and the music helps carry the emotional parts of the story. There are some heavier moments too, including death, murder and a partial jumpscare, so I would not go into this expecting a light romance story. The biggest weakness for me is the limited amount of actual gameplay. Once I understand how the phantasm feature works, most of my time is spent reading and making choices. That is completely normal for a visual novel, but I still think the experience could have benefited from a little more interaction or another layer to the investigation. The two endings also mean I do not have a huge amount of content to work through after finishing the main story. I can replay it to see the other outcome, but there is not enough variety for me to keep returning for a long time. I also think some of the story depends on me being interested in its emotional themes. The game is much more focused on grief, anger and the aftermath of death than on building a complicated mystery with loads of twists. I appreciate that because it keeps the story focused, but it also means the experience is quite specific. For me, the shorter length actually helps because the game does not have to stretch its central idea across a huge number of chapters. It gets to its point, gives me two different ways to finish the story and leaves me with enough to think about afterwards. Overall, Myosotis: My Life Is Not Yours to Take is a surprisingly effective little visual novel. I like the ghost premise, the emotional story, the phantasm mechanic, the artwork and the soundtrack, and I think the two endings give my choices enough importance to make a second playthrough worthwhile. The main thing holding it back is simply that there is not a huge amount of gameplay or content outside the story itself. Still, considering that it is completely free, I think it offers a lot for its size. It is short, dark and focused, and for me that works much better than trying to turn the idea into something unnecessarily complicated. Rating: 6.8/10

I loved this game. I think the writing is sublime, especially the narration. The dialogues also feel very natural and flow well with the story. I think the emotions brought up by the plot are strong and make you resonate with the protagonist. The art style is also distinctive and pretty. I definitely recommend this game, though I wish the story expanded more on the resolution of the protagonist's situation at the end of the game.
