Thank you for checking out my newest game! I'm jswessler, a solo developer based in New England, and it means a lot to me that you've read this far. MYMEMORY is my next project, inspired by classic RPGMaker hits like Oneshot and Ib, but modernized into a new format! I'm really proud of what MYMEMORY became over the last year, and I hope everyone enjoys it!
I've been reading and following the SCP Foundation since 2019, and I'm so happy to finally be writing for it! MYMEMORY was inspired by SCP-245. After that article switched to a Twine project, I figured the wiki needed another RPGMaker game to fill that gap!
Thank you for playing, and I hope I can keep making more games!
A 'Meta' game that takes place completely within the game, and does an excellent job of it.
When first going into to this, you think it's just going to be a normal game about SCP stuff and whatnot. However, what really ends up happening (no spoilers) is far more interesting and really keeps you interested in the game as a whole. I loved the art, the characters, the music, and the narrative. It was a well-written story that was funny, but also had good twists and turns. That said, I did have some issues. The two major ones are: 1. The wall of text at the beginning. It's literally the SCP entry for 9831, and while I really DO like that, at the same time it's slightly off-putting to have to read a wall of text like that at the start of the game. Easily overlooked, however, because of how this game is meant to be played. 2. The nightmare flashlight sequence. Thankfully there's an option to decrease the difficulty, but the whole section is a number of things I personally do not like: low/limited visibility, sound mechanics (too loud will attract the enemy) and instant death mechanics (at least it felt that way) if the enemy gets you, which can happen often as you can't always see where they are. Thankfully, with the option to lower the difficulty the instant death is more a suggestion and it's far easier to deal with. But limited light in maze-like environments is always annoying to deal with. Even with those two issues, I still found the game so good that I wanted to buy a copy so my review would count, but Steam won't let me remove it from my account and purchase it. So I'll buy a copy for a friend! 100% worth your time
Story was fun but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WHY THE ♥♥♥♥ WAS THAT FLASHLIGHT PUZZLE SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STUPIDLY HARD?! Edit: Yes. I know there's a "Reduce Difficulty" toggle. I've been playing with that on this whole time.
Interesting Story and honestly kind of addicting for reading it all
This is a really cool RPG Maker game with a pretty interesting story. The characters are great, especially Camille her ability to put memories into things is pretty cool. The soundtrack is amazing too, honestly every track hits and fits the vibe perfectly. I highly recommend giving this game a go.
