I just want to say Rashid and Harun's voiceovers were superb. WAY TOO HOT. I had to pause every few lines to compose myself. I am in love with Rashid just because Michael did a phenomenal job on the voice.
Loved it! The story and the art, it was all gorgeous! You play as an MC named Adnan who becomes part of a Sultan's harem who tries to make best of the circumstances given to him, while also not losing sight of his goals (to leave the harem), but love is a powerful motivator. You can either choose to stay and fall in love with the Sultan himself, run away and risk a worse possibility than having stayed in the harem, or perhaps finding love elsewhere and where you least expected it! In the end, I def recommend this game 100%. I'll put some pros and cons down below for any extra information needed: PROS: -100% uncensored NSFW (I'm used to pixel d**ks from JP yaoi games okay? So anytime there's raw nsfw, it's already a pro to me XD) -Gorgeous CGs, BGs, and NSFW CGs -The story is great, and an interesting take. Not too many games out there where you're part of the harem vs making one, and certainly even less (if any at all?) of the BL variety. -Two ROs and a Half: Rashid -the Sultan, Halim -another harem slave, and the half romance interest is the villain of this story Harun -the Sultan's Vizier. I call him a half romance, since you just have a short good ending with him along with an NSFW set. -NSFW intimate scenes, I'd say that the MC is verse, Rashid is verse, Halim is verse, and Harun is a top. However, you don't get an NSFW CG set of seeing Halim top the MC, that part is only textual. -A nice shorter play through of 9-10hrs. CONS: -Some grammar mistakes (not very many and hardly noticeable) -The END CREDITS has an error. Not sure when this started, if it's recent or if it's been there from the start, or if it's just for me. But, for some reason there is an error that won't allow them to play (yes, for once I had wanted to see the end credits to something, because I heard a wonderful ending song start and wanted to see/hear more --only I couldn't). -Some dub-con/non-con that some people may wish to know about before going into the routes. The MC is a harem slave so tech he has no choice in serving the Sultan, and there's also a bad end where it's full on non-con with Harun. Other than that, I can't find anything else that's a CON. I truly enjoyed this game and it was a nice. shorter BL VN play through vs something really long and arduous. There's a guide I used provided by Aniva in the guides section, that helped me get 100% completion. Thank you so much Aniva!

My Burning Heart, developed and published by Ertal Games, is an 18+ visual novel that immerses players in a richly stylized world inspired by the tales of the Arabian Nights. It tells the story of Adnan, a young man who is taken as a slave and placed in the harem of a powerful sultan. What begins as a tale of captivity soon deepens into a narrative of internal conflict, power dynamics, and forbidden romance. The game doesn’t hold back from exploring mature themes, both emotional and physical, and situates its narrative in a morally complex setting that forces players to reflect on issues of autonomy, survival, and desire. Though the premise might initially seem like a typical fantasy of exotic sensuality, the story takes deliberate steps to question the very fantasy it portrays. Adnan is a refreshingly assertive protagonist, not the passive or blank-slate type often found in visual novels. His bitterness toward the system that robbed him of his freedom, combined with his cunning and desire to reclaim agency over his own body, makes him an engaging character. Throughout the game, players witness his evolving relationships with several male characters in the palace, each presenting their own blend of affection, dominance, manipulation, or genuine connection. What gives these relationships weight is the consistent tension between power and vulnerability. None of the romance options are straightforward; they are laced with emotional ambiguity, which may be deeply satisfying for players who appreciate more than surface-level affection or simplistic happy endings. Structurally, the game offers several narrative routes, with major story branches tied to the choices players make in conversation and behavior. These decisions guide Adnan toward different relationships and determine whether his ending is hopeful, tragic, or something in between. There is an evident effort by the developers to reward multiple playthroughs, as the "good" endings often require players to pay attention to subtle cues and character motivations. At its core, the game is about navigating a world where love and trust are both rare and risky, and where the path to freedom is never clearly marked. While the narrative is compact, clocking in at about five hours for a full run, it packs emotional and psychological nuance into its runtime. Visually, My Burning Heart is striking. The character art is lush, expressive, and fitting for the opulent fantasy setting. CG illustrations, including explicit scenes, are detailed and emotionally charged, often reinforcing the tone of the moment rather than feeling gratuitous. The backgrounds and interface design complement the atmosphere, pulling the player deeper into the world of palace intrigue and secret longing. Voice acting in English adds to the immersion and brings the characters to life, especially during scenes of heightened emotion or sensuality. The audio and music, while not always groundbreaking, provide a pleasant backdrop that supports the emotional beats of the story. What sets this visual novel apart is its willingness to confront darker aspects of its premise. Consent, manipulation, and the ethics of power imbalances are not glossed over. While some endings explore non-consensual situations, these are clearly marked and not treated lightly. There is an awareness on the part of the developers that these themes may be triggering or uncomfortable for some players. That said, the inclusion of these elements isn’t gratuitous—they serve a narrative purpose and contribute to the complexity of the world and the people within it. Players who are particularly sensitive to these subjects should approach the game with caution, but those who engage with the material thoughtfully may find it rewarding. That said, there are a few areas where the game could benefit from greater depth. Some side characters, while intriguing, don’t get enough screen time to fully realize their potential. At times, pacing between major scenes feels slightly rushed, particularly in the middle sections of the story where transitions between events can occur abruptly. Additionally, although the romantic routes offer emotional variation, players who prefer more “wholesome” or light-hearted love stories might feel alienated by the game’s more serious tone and sensual intensity. However, it’s clear that My Burning Heart is not attempting to cater to a broad, casual audience—it knows its niche and commits to it fully. Overall, My Burning Heart is a bold and emotionally charged entry in the BL visual novel genre. Its combination of gorgeous art, morally complex writing, and a richly imagined world make it stand out among its peers. For players who are interested in exploring romantic stories that don't shy away from difficult questions or uncomfortable truths, this game offers an experience that lingers after the screen fades to black. It’s not just about seduction or escape—it’s about identity, power, and what it means to reclaim control in a world built on dominance and submission. It's a short journey, but a meaningful one, and it rewards players who approach it with empathy and curiosity. Rating: 8/10
¡Me encantó! ¡Amo a Harun!
Shortish VN. Easy Achievements, 100% / 7min.
Unique setting, beautifully drawn characters, spicy CGs (a pretty decent number of them as well), nice music... overall a fun and erotic BL story. The story is kind of basic, the pacing is a tad quick/scattered at times, the characters are simple, and the character development leaves a bit to be desired--but if you just pick up what the game is putting down, it's quite simply a "love at first sight, affirmed by interaction" fantasy story. (Unless you get the bad endings, of course.) The game is quite short, you can unlock all routes and CGs in about 5-6 hours. The voice acting is decent... but the MC sounds incredibly whiny. I often feel like english VAs are a bad decision for VNs because they simply cannot perform at the same level as JP VAs, but I do appreciate that the game is VAd at all, and that most of them do a good job. Overall, I enjoyed it. It felt like a sweet but simple story with a unique setting. I think the full price point is fair given the music, voice acting, and beautiful artwork, so pick it up if you have any interest!
