Rethinking of the classic sokoban genre, slow and kind game with original gameplay elements. Mushroom Quest is a retro styled and addictive arcade, ideal to spend few unhurried evenings.

Has some odd difficulty fluctuations, but other than that, it's a decent enough ride with no surprises that should keep you busy for a brief while.
Mushroom Quest is a cute puzzle game of the Sokoban genre, where you push boxes around to navigate a maze. The puzzles utilize simple concepts in interesting ways, with some stages really training the analytical side of your brain. The design of the final stage alone is enough for me to recommend it, as it has so many different mechanics at play, all densely packed into a single 11 × 8 map. After a lot of trial and error when I finally got the solution, I felt like I was navigating a piece of art, every step that I made was deliberate and often served multiple purposes. Getting that final end screen felt incredibly satisfying. My only minor gripe would be that level difficulty was a bit all over the place. Typically, level difficulty should increase over time, but many of the easiest stages were towards the end. I know this is going to vary from person to person and perhaps I just got lucky, but some of the later stages felt as if they should have been much earlier. Overall Mushroom Quest is a fantastic Sokoban puzzler, and worth checking out.
Way too easy, way too short. Kinda cute, I guess. Not worth time or money.
I bought this game in a bundle, never expecting to play it. This afternoon I decided to play it, and even though it was not that difficult, it was a good experience considering that I didn't expect anything out of this game. Probably not for you if you're looking for your "head scratcher that needs 30 hours per puzzle" but you can spend a good hour if you have some spare money
I wish I could give a sideways thumb. I ended up rating it yes because it's a cute little easy hour of sokoban with a nice soundtrack, worth picking up on a sale if not at full price, but again, I wish I could give a sideways thumb, because there are some SERIOUS design problems with this game. First off, like other reviewers have said, basically all the difficulty is fake. The puzzles range from trivial to easy, but the fact that there's no undo button (so you have to restart if you die or accidentally press a box against a wall) and some real-time-based hazards (the trapdoors) artificially inflates the time required to beat the game. The game looks like it was ported from mobile, so I assume the absence of the undo button was originally paired up with an ad whenever you restart the level, but as a paid PC game this element is orphaned and weird. Second off, there's a SERIOUS lack of polish. For instance, not only is there no continue button, it doesn't even save your scroll level on the level select screen; there's only 5 screens but the animation to scroll a screen down lasts like 3 seconds which is TEDIOUS Third, there's literally no way to tell which holes are actually coloured tiles waiting to be enabled until you press the button, which impairs the player's ability to make plans. Also as another person pointed out there are trivial unintended solutions for a lot of levels I rated thumbs up because I want to see another game with these graphics but better design
Pretty short game and levels were pretty easy. Would have been a lot more fun if the levels got progressively harder, but meh, it had shrooms!
It is no Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker but I still enjoyed myself for the brief time it lasted. One or two puzzles I brain farted on but for the most part it is pretty simple. A quick break kind of game.
meh, it does the job
Very fun, approachable puzzler. It's very short - my playtime was under an hour - but worth the couple bucks.
A quick and nostalgic puzzle game. I'm a sucker for the pixel art style and am always happy to see newer games using this style. Some levels may be hard but that's part of the fun, I definitely recommend taking it slow and enjoy the vibes. It's a good game for puzzle enthusiasts and retro fans.
