Went in somewhat skeptical, but after my first tutorial, I had a sly little smile on my face as I realised what the game was asking of me! A brilliant game full of different levels all with the same basic concept; control four different related mini-arcade style games at the same time, with the speed ever increasing, and certain distractions to throw you off. It's whimsical, but devilish. And it's pretty addictive too. I streamed MultiTaskMaster live and the interaction with the chat was great. It works well in that live/party setting, as well as (I'd imagine) late at night alone desperately trying to beat a previous score. It's absolutely worth buying, and I'll be revisiting it soon. Thumbs up.
Fun game and a good challenge, its great to see how bad i am at multitasking ( i'm worse than i thought i'd be ) Would recommend a try.
After I reported a bug (in the cafe) it was fixed rather quickly. Also The levels seem to run smoother than before. If you are into arcade style games then this is a great game to consider buying.
MultiTaskMaster is a fantistically simple game but that doesn't mean it's easy! There is a lot more to do then you first think when you start the game, completing levels or missions opens up more scenarios around the world map. While the controls are the same in each one it does not feel repetitive as they all feel unique and provide an interesting challange, with speed increases and screen switching. Before starting each scenario you are provided with some back-story to make you feel more involved with the events you manage. While initially, for me atleast, you don't care much for the characters you start to see connections between scenarios and piece together individual storys in a clever and interactive way. The art style grows on you and the soundtracks, for me, are great fitting the scenes well. I very much look forward to playing more of the game and becoming the MultiTaskMaster!
My head hurts
This is like whack-a-mole with 4 sets of moles and 4 mallets. No, it's like playing drums but the drums keep shifting positions. No, it's like playing poker, texting your boss and doing woodwork in your car driving on the highway. Or someway in between. MultiTaskMaster is arcade split vision coordination madness. When you have finished all levels, go join that circus! This is a hard game, but you will get better at it as your brain splits into more than two halves. That's what's happening when your head hurts.
This novel concept for a game has clearly been thoughtfully designed well implemented, as proven by the enjoyable gameplay. The varying levels of difficulty allow for a tough challenge or a relaxing evening of multi-tasking depending on the mood, which I really like. I'd definitely recommend this game to people with all levels of multi-tasking experience!
I’m always very wary of purchasing indie games. I find they have an alluring appeal, only to disappoint an hour into the game. Multi-Task Master is one of those games with an alluring appeal that can keep those who like being constantly stimulated or with an ADD brain not only occupied, but satisfied. I absolutely love the level of simplicity mixed in with complexity – if that makes sense. Multi-Task Master is a game where the player must balance their attention between four screens. All four screens have different activities occurring within them, and are all controlled differently from one another. I absolutely love the fact that the tasks are related. In one task, you might be robbing a bank, while trying to keep the hostages calm, while attempting to take out the suspects, while attempting to catch money falling out of the building. In another task, you might be a boxer doing different training regimes all at one time. Another scenario puts you on a factory assembly line. All the scenarios I’ve encountered so far are pretty neat, engaging, and fun. The gameplay delivery on this one is rock solid, straight forward, and original. There are a lot of different scenarios and challenges to go tackle. Each scenario becomes increasingly more difficult and quicker over time. The player is given a certain amount of lives (to make mistakes). Make one too many, and there goes your effort! The graphics and visuals are well suited to the game. It is a little goofy and even slightly cartoon-ey, but it adds character to an already fun game. It uses unity engine and more or less all details (even particles) are included. The sounds and music are actually quite key in this game. Different game modes will produce different sounds when new obstacles or challenges come your way. This prompts the player to react and understand which of the four screens is asking for the player’s attention. This is a super important (minor) detail that will save the player’s butt when push comes to shove! Overall, this is a pretty rock solid game for what it is. If this doesn’t pique your interest at first, I would say continue on your game search. If this does seem appealing to you, I’m sure you’ll love it. I’m a person that likes a lot of stimulus and challenge; Multi-Task Master provides that and more. It is a little slow at first as it forces you to walk through the tutorial. Even for non-gamers, the game provides an interesting opportunity for them to step into the gaming world. A few family members and even my girlfriend enjoyed it, but the game got a little too hard and a little too fast for them. They still got a kick out of trying it. I would highly recommend a purchase on sale! DEV NOTE : Can you fix the saves? They restart completely sometimes.... and please give the option to skip the tutorial. This debut game from indie developer WyvernWare is such a simple and clever concept - can you play 4 games at once? While each of the individual mini games (and you'll spend a while unlocking them all!) is incredibly simplistic, usually reliant on one or two controls, the whole experience comes together to provide a genuine challenge that never feels totally unfair. Graphics, sound and interface are functional, and there were only one or two occasions of confusion as to 'what' to do, that is probably a personal problem anyway. Each level is introduced by a tutorial which enables you to play each 'screen' individually to get a feel before gradually making you play 2, 3 and then 4. I think perhaps the pacing could be improved in those tutorials, as each screen on its own is slow paced with a fair amount of 'waiting' time - reducing the amount of time each screen is played individually could really tighten things up. The amount of brain melting I personally experienced was highlighted for me quite neatly in one section where you have to keep a drill at a constant speed using the space bar while moving a camera to monitor a police chase. Both games had an 'up/down' component that was sufficient to keep my brain in a constant state of agitation. Overall I have no hestitation in urging people to give it a shot. Or a bag of money, or a drill. At the same time. I've also since learnt that my girlfriend is much better at multitasking then I am, a fact which should surprise no section of society.
A pair of keys was generously donated to us at Gaming4Guts by WyvernWare where we livestream reviewed the product and did a developers talk workshop with the man behind WyvernWare. This game was developed with a lot of heart by a man with a lot to give and it is truly an enjoyable singleplayer arcade game that brings back a form of wonder, confusion and enjoyment that doesnt revolve around people screaming at you over VOIP and teabagging you. The game is sure to give you hours of entertainment as you become the master of the multitask and fight your way to new highscores with faster and faster reaction times. For an added challenge get a buddy to pick up the game and connect via VOIP and try to outpace one another for who goes the longest and gets the highest score, BCBotKiller007 and myself did that during our livestream and it made for great moments as BC found himself panick shouting as he messed up multiple tasks repeatedly. I can't recommend this game enough and if you're looking for something to widdle some hours and work on how fast you can scan a screen, use peripheral vision and listening for sound clues all without miss mashing a button than this is it. So step up and play the best game where you play four games at once!
