Edit: So, the dev (it's a solo developed game!) reacted to my criticism. There will be no key rebinding, at least not in the near future, but he tried. He suggested a few workarounds and reasoned why there's no key rebinding in the game. I'm switching to positive just for that, but buyers beware: This game might be not playable for certain people playing with keyboard/mouse. And certainly others will need 3rd-party software to make it playable. My old (negative) review follows: This might be a REALLY great 3D platformer. Unfortunately, some basic functionality features are missing. There is no key rebinding for keyboard and mouse. This is NOT some nice to have accessibility stuff for convenience - it's basic functionality for many gamers. There are left handed or disabled people, those with different keyboard layouts like AZERTY or those conditioned to a certain layout through decades of muscle memory - many of them cannot play a game without key rebinding. The devs don't react to my questions on the forum, so I'm leaving a negative review. Maybe this helps. I'd be happy to switch it to positive if the game could be improved with a playable version.
Jogasso! Uma tradução para o PT-BR faria o jogo ser mais perfeito ainda.
I was in love with the soundtrack before the game even dropped but was hesitant to play bc I struggle with platformers. However, this game is so delightful, surprising and fun, missing a jump isnt a frustration its a happy accident.
this is whatever the opposite of "embarassingly awful" is. an amazing accomplishment in every meaningful metric, permanently on sale, etc.
Editing this to personally ask Devin to put this on Switch faster so that my friends can play it and I can talk to them about it instead of having to not spoil anything. Pretty please. Beat the game, recommend it strongly. It's not perfect, but it is really brilliant. The music, world, gameplay, and levels are all quite good. Bosses are whatever other than the last one, but it's a 3D platformer and most 3D platformer bosses are bad. Even having a good final boss is pretty rare. Some of the sections in this game are among the best things I've played in a game in years, if not ever, and the game as a whole is going to be one of my GOTYs. For some perspective, I'd say it's a heck of a lot better than Mina the Hollower... not that you need to praise one thing by disparaging another, but the level of passion put into this as well as the general gameplay is really impressive for a solo dev making his first game. It's a really, really special game. For flaws, I'd say the progression system is utterly wack though. I ended up using the official walkthough to help me on a part of the game's "critical path," and doing that made me realize that what I had been doing before was pointless more or less despite feeling incredibly directed to do it based on what the game was telling me. All of the side content feels like main content and is solid, but it truly is just on the side- there's not really a reason to engage with it. I completed a quest that was heavily pushed at the start of the game thinking it was required, and then realized it not only was optional, but didn't actually contribute at all towards the main objectives of the game. It was very bizarre feeling. I absolutely wouldn't have found out what to do if I hadn't consulted that walkthrough. I think it would have made sense to have a traditional "shiny things" count that you had to meet to beat the game too, even if it was just 30 of them in addition to getting all the required items. Now, the optional content is still generally quite fun and the world of the game is great, so it's worth engaging with regardless, but it's still quite weirdly designed. I think the game would feel better paced with that traditional collectable count requirement. It needs a little more Banjo Kazooie and a little less Breath of the Wild. A few quality-of-life updates would also help a bunch. 1) Please give the ability to skip all dialogue and not just some. It's strange not being able to and makes it a bit annoying to have to go back and re-complete things, especially because that's practically necessary to beat the game. 2) Maybe remove the stamina meter from basic movement and just make it for the blanket maneuvers? Bing bing wahooing all across the map is fun. 3) Give the option to disable the slowdown animation when you get hit. It takes so long. 4) I really do think the game would benefit if you had to get at least 30 or 40 shiny things to beat it. Still, despite all that, I'd say the game is an easy 8 or 9 out of 10, but it's more like a 10 out of 10 and a 6 out of 10 alternating, which for a game like this probably makes me like it more than if it was consistent.
Devin Santi you monster, you've made me ruin everything!
bro il gioco più bello sulla faccia della terra
Oozes charm and vision. Totally worth the time.
please play this RIGHT NOW
I just finished playing Mr. Sleppy, and I really enjoyed it. The game creates a creepy atmosphere from the very beginning and keeps the tension high until the end. The story is interesting, with several unexpected moments that kept me engaged. The graphics fit the horror style well, and the sound effects make the experience even more immersive. The gameplay is fun and challenging, although there are a few moments where the controls could feel a little smoother. Overall, Mr. Sleppy is a great horror game for players who enjoy suspense and scary adventures. I would definitely recommend it to horror fans. Rating: 8.5/10
