"Motamo" is a basic mobile app from France intended to teach people how to use a PC to pretend it's a mobile phone, and also learn some French vocabulary. What do you do in the game? Arrange letters on a Scrabble grid to make up French words. Pretending your gaming PC is an iPhone. Wonder what went wrong in your life. This lack of an English translation for the game doesn't really matter. The language of shovelware games is universal (and I suppose it's the point here is not to be in English). This is clearly a mobile app... it makes no difference if this hit PC before the app stores, or if it never even launched on a phone. This was made for the most basic of all gaming platforms, the lowest common denominator for gaming, and it needs to be treated as such... it won't provide a high-end PC gaming experience. That alone is enough to disqualify this from any recommendation. Nobody spends thousands on a high-end PC to pretend it's an iPhone and use their rig to play mobile apps and phone games. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. Let's look at the price and what kind of value this actually offers gamers. They have their hand out for a $5 USD "donation" for this as you're expected to give them money from buying empty DLC from Steam... digital panhandling. Like the homeless guys who splash dirty water on your windscreen at the traffic lights. No thanks. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at [b]only 5 concurrent players[/b]... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. There's no up front cost here, but I still feel like I got ripped off, and I didn't even spend any money. That's how bad this is.
