Mosaics Galore. Challenging journey

If you liked the first two games don't bother with this one, it's just a shameless cashgrab, the aesthetics of the first 2 games is compleatly missing, they've just used stockphotos run through a photoshop filter, then randomly cut them into chunks and just thrown together into random catogary's. What a random photo of two buskers or the photo of a box and scrolls has to do with the 'flower garden' area is beyond me.... I could do the same for free with my holidayphotos a printer and a pair of scissors. :(

Si vous êtes accoutumés des jeux de la collection Creobit alors vous retrouverez le design, la musique et les succès ingame (non steam pour ce volet). Il propose 5 mondes (6 selon les succès !?!) soit 100 puzzles équivalent à environ 6h de temps de jeu en prenant son temps. Mais il y a un gros MAIS… ! Je ne dis pas qu’il est mauvais pourtant : Je ne m’attendais pas à cela en comparaison des précédents opus ; les puzzles à base de photos étaient inattendus. Ca les rend beaucoup plus simple et même si certain décors ont beaucoup de charme (château / forêt etc…) je ne comprends pas ce que la reconstitution de l’immortalisation de la dernière sortie pique-nique de Michel et Corinne fait dans la rubrique « Vallée des Fées ; Atelier des Nains ou encore Retraite aquatique ». Et puis bon, un portait de nana entourée de fleurs passe encore mais au bout d’un moment on a compris… Monique boit un café devant la cheminée, Jean Paul joue de la guitare, Bébé Julie s’est perdue dans un champ de coquelicots… on est loin de retrouver le côté fantastique qui m’avait tant plu. Pour faire simple je dirais qu’ils se sont égarés en perdant de vue l’essentiel : les textures et les dessins… oui parce qu’ils ont zappé les différentes textures également. Du coup pour moi c’est non, même si les puzzles ne sont pas foncièrement déplaisant à faire et qu’aucun réel bug n’est à déplorer.

Ouch. No trace of the exquisite handcrafted patchworks of "Mosaics Galore", "Alice's Patchwork 1,2" and "Pirate Mosaic Puzzle: Caribbean Treasures". I've played to level 40 and I only encountered very low-resolution collages made of badly-photoshopped photo clippings, most of them quite ugly. A huge disappointement, even for its very small price. Play the other titles instead.

There's a game-breaking bug at lvl 89. But it's also boring, uninspired and dull. Forget about this one and better get one of the other titles of this Mosaics-series.

8Floor firmasının klasik mozaik puzzle oyunu

On a complètement perdu l'effet puzzle en matériau "noble" des précédents Mosaics Galore. Au lieu de dessins à la découpe spécifique visant à imiter un matériau, on a ici essentiellement des photos à peine trafiquées avec un filtre "plâtre mal lissé" qui donne juste un rendu photo à gros grains au final. La découpe n'a rien de spécifique, les pièces ont les continuités de teintes et de lignes d'un puzzle standard et sur aussi peu de pièces, la pioche limitée seule peine à créer un minimum de difficulté. Trop simple pour présenter de l'intérêt en tant que puzzle, trop loin de l'esprit des premiers de la série pour être visuellement satisfaisant. Bôf, bôf.

Mosaics Galore. Challenging journey is a basic mobile-app like jigsaw/mosaic puzzle game. Solve various puzzles by placing stained glass window/mosaic pieces onto an existing picture (picture stolen off the internet and used without crediting the copyright holder). It's been done a million times before, for free, and free on mobile app stores too... yet this one has a hefty price tag on it. Who knew you can just charge $5 for mobile trash? I guess Creobit/8Floor does. Now, the site may permit this copyrighted work to be used in the manner that has been done here, but that's not apparent from the way this has been used. Furthermore, 8floor did not credit the work of the copyright holder who created the image. So at best, this is morally bankrupt and highly unethical plagiarism, and at worse, copyright infringment. But 8Floor have done this literally hundreds, if not thousands of times. This is harmful to content creators, copyright holders, and to gamers... which is why I recommend against anyone buying products from such unethical asset flippers. The asset flipper/"developer", Creobit/8Floor, has copy + pasted this game SIXTEEN TIMES onto Steam with minor reskins, often using stolen artwork... why cash in on one asset if you can cash in on multiple copies of the same game? From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features simple, cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers have the budget or talent to deliver this, despite 3D graphics cards hitting the mainstream in the 1990's. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio (although they put "wings", flat textures, on the pillars). It's possible they developed this using an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game has been specifically designed for people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn't really acceptable in the modern era of PC gaming. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just iPhone screen tapping stuff. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes Knight Solitaire might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this asset flip is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Mosaics Galore. Challenging journey has the total ripoff price of around $5, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. Because this is the kind of game you can just play for free on mobile phones, it's impossible to recommend anyone should pay money for the same experience on Steam.

This is a bit like a Facebook or app game. The goal is to rearrange and complete pictures in the allotted time without trying to put pieces in the wrong place. It is a simple and interesting game. Worth a purchase.
