The original Mosaic was one of my favourite games of all time. So when I've learnt that this lovechild of jigsaw puzzle and "fuzzy felt" got a second instalment, I bought it in a heartbeat! It was also at 40% off, so there is that... Thankfully, unlike in the first game, there none of this "timed" nonsense, or "round puzzles you need to rotate" ridiculousness. But lots of things have remained the same - the gorgeous pictures; the incredibly calming music; the varied materials the puzzles are made from (paper, glass, granite, fabric or marble). Don't believe the reviewers who say it can be done in 5 hours flat. Getting 3 stars on every single puzzle - the first star for completing the puzzle, the second for doing it with no hints, and the third for no mistakes - is actually quite challenging. After 18 hours, I still haven't managed it. And there are score bonuses for speed, needed for some harder achievements. My only criticism is that the bits of story at the beginning and the end are both subtitled and voice-acted. Dear devs, if you are going to do something like this, Please ensure that the Words Match in both the subtitling and the voice acting, rather than "The meaning is the same anyway, so let's call it a day here". TLDR: If you are after some Buddha-approved casual eye-candy, look no further.
This is a rather pleasant puzzle game. There is a story line, but it's very sparse, with some information in the beginning, and very little after that. If you're here for the story, you're in the wrong place. Graphically the game is basic, but the colours and the prints / mosaics look like, and it's enjoyable seeing them come together as you place the pieces. The game starts each level with a few pieces already place, and you've got a selection of 5 other pieces to place on the board at any one time. You can't scroll through this list, and you have to place a piece before the next piece is revealed. I've found that I always have at least 1 piece that can be placed without too much trouble. The sounds are adequate, and like always, I turn the music off. Nothing to rave about here, nothing to complain about either. The game is rather relaxing and emjoyable. If you're after a few of the achievements, they're going to be tough. Especially the 1,500 points and 5x multiplier. Getting those two would be a challenge for most people, coloured blind people need not apply ! The game isn't hard for coloured blind people, but occassionally you'll be wondering where to place a piece as the background is similar to the surrounding foreground. Overall for a few dollars, if you're after a relaxing time and don't mind a bit of a challenge, mostly without frantic stress inducing gameplay, you could do a lot worse.
とても綺麗なパズルでゆったりした時間をすごせます。 難しさはないのでゆったりと時間をこなすのにぴったりなパズルゲームです
Not as good as the first game but it does the job. It is very relaxing to play through as a break between Rocket League and Dark Souls.
Mosaic: Game of Gods II is a collection of 150 fairly easy puzzles for when you just want to unwind and relax. All 150 puzzles can be completed at a comfortable pace in around 5 hours.
I really enjoyed the first game in the series, which also opened with a great and colorful cinematic to set the story and gameplay up. However, the sequel just feels rushed, with modes that were in the first game completely absent here, such an endless time attack mode and one where the puzzles were a circle you had to spin as well. This entry only has 150 puzzles, and some of them have overlapping pieces which just take guess work at times, which is a cardinal sin for a jigsaw puzzle game. I can't endorse this game, unless it's free, simply since it takes no steps forward to improve on the original and instead only takes them backwards.
Coming back to find I'd already completed over forty puzzles, I clearly played this a lot longer than my playtime of nine minutes indicates, but I can take or leave it. Pretty much the same music and puzzle types as the first games. Only pieces can overlap and there is still the same issue of not being able to play any puzzle you like. I honestly have to go with thumbs down. Although removing the timer made it more casual we now have puzzles with pieces that overlap. We should get to play any puzzle we like imho, instead of having a stage setting forced on us. I just didn't like every puzzle and it felt like slogging through ones I disliked to get to one I liked more. There is also still no real storyline which is just fine with a puzzle collection, but without it, the game feels like a grab at random pagan and fantasy elements. And animals and other random things because, reasons? It's fine to have totally random puzzles in a game. I don't even mind the blend of nature, fantasy and paganism. It's the lazy stoyrline that exists in the store and thankfully, not in the game that drives me nuts. I get it, devs gonna borrow from paganism forever without caring that actual pagans exist. But the first game felt like a friendly nod to Wicca and this storyline (which, again, thankfully exists in the store only) just felt, I dunno, more meanspirited. I'll still play it because some puzzles are nice enough, but a lot are clunkers you have to play through too. Thumbs down as it would be nicer to be able to choose the puzzles we play next. There's no valid reason to have the forced level mechanic.
Nice casual game 8/10
beautiful game. puzzles are good. and i love the music. it can be relaxing and a tad frustrating at the same time, but overall quite enjoyable.
