Moonripple Lake

The dialog rambles on for far too long and is clumsy and juvenile. The story is decent but too strung out to maintain cohesion. The animation is pretty but needs more pictures/slides. The sex scenes are few and far between and the scenes are stagnant and repetitive. The game mechanic pushes a strong morality that isn't conducive for atypical sexual lifestyles. The ability to choose the type of sexual encounter you want to have is limited or absent and leaves one feeling forced into a scenario you don't want, in order to push the game forward. This had a lot of potential but it failed to deliver.

So this gets a hesitant recommendation. I don't fully love the project, but there are a lot of elements that make it a reasonably good product. First off, I like the art style. Characters look good and the color choice looks nice. The actual plot is interesting and has potential to be a strong framework for future plans. On the down side, the writing gets lost in itself. There is an over-indulence in meaningless banter and chatter. The text conversations on phones are good examples. Very long and meaningless. There is an old expression that writing teachers always use. "Show it, don't tell it." This goes double for a visual novel / game. So much information is just fed in course after course of dialogue that ends up just being empty calories. The second issue is the actual way the art is being used. There are a lot of opportunities missed. The stock images get recycled many times and text is used to explain emotions and feelings when creating unique images of expressive faces, body language or progression of images can accomplish the same detail more effectively. There are many good visuals and facial expressions, but they remain fixed for several frames of dialogue where subtle changes in eyes, mouth, position would all be more compelling and engaging and can convey the measning without needing a written explanation. Finally, the spicy scenes are okay, but miss a lot of seasoning. Not enough animation, which at this point and time is really something all devs need to be working to incorporate as a standard, not a bonus. No matter how nice an image looks, motion and action are always better. Even though there is some small amount of animation, the scenes feel fairly static. An image, several boxes of text, another image, more boxes of text. It's pretty flat. Text isn't even needed if there is a progression in pictures that tell the story rather than a single frame and a string of text that most people will just skip through to get the next image. The sprinkle of fairly generic minor animation doesn't save it. So overall, I see potential, I like the look, the story could be unique, but the art needs to do more heavy lifting and the spicy scenes need either animation or more progression of unique stills. Pretty good start. I hope they keep improving and pushing their boundaries. Good work.

I don't dive into the adult space often but this one caught my eye and it's a damn treat. Fun characters caught in an interesting story. Fully playable on steam deck using touch screen to advance.

This surprised me. There's more to the game than I thought there would be. Interesting characters (I knew a RL couple like the ones the game) that have a little more depth than most games. But damn! Can't wait for any and all updates!

Ótimo jogo, Opções NTR dando a sensação de escolhas onde acho bem legal, porem não posso recomendar, tenham consciência que ainda está incompleto (aparentemente não tem nem metade da historia concluída) e tem um andamento extremamente lento onde diria que está quase abandonado se não fosse pelas promessas de atualização, as atualizações demoram muito para sair e são extremamente curtas.

I have to admit, I was initially fooled by the art style into thinking that I wouldn't enjoy this, but I decided to take a chance on it. I am very glad I did. Moonripple Lake is actually a really great story, with interesting characters, an engaging plot, beautiful art and hot sex. It does lean heavily into hotwife / stag & vixen kink which I know isn't everyone's brand of vodka, but it is definitely mine. It also contains elements of supernatural horror and some tense scenes (including at least one "near miss" with sexual assault) which could be a little stressful for some readers. Still, all in all, I think this is a great AVN and I look forward to future updates.
