A fully-cooperative game mode for the board game Moonrakers. Introducing a co-op game mode for 1-5 players where you'll adventure across a procedurally generated map, attempt multi-tiered narrative-driven contracts, build a ship, and face off against a Utopian Alliance General.

Loved this online expansion, very easy game play, very well thought out. It did crash once, but the game is constantly saving so it was easy to reopen the game and continue where we left off. I bought this game as a christmas eve gift for the household and it's been a hit and this online addition makes it that much better. Some of the cards offered to us in the shop weren't available in our physical deck, so on occasion we had to go without the free cards offered. This is mainly an issue if you don't have the crew cards. Is there a physical expansion pack? If so, maybe have an option at the start to say if you have it or not, so you're not given cards you don't own in the shop. It's also unclear if the reduction in thrust/reactor/shield/damage requirement is automatically added when a ship part is installed or if you need to add it manually. It was quite hard to grow a deck, as you could only shop when you reached an armoury. It would be good if you could go backwards on the flight path and complete more contracts so you have the chance to build the deck up a bit, before attempting the harder contracts.

This is an amazing free addition to the board game that turns a negotiation-based competitive game into a marvellous cooperative experience reminiscent of the noteworthy indie video game, FTL. As of reviewing this in late 2022, I've played through once in a three-player game in August and scored a very difficult, skin-of-our-teeth victory. A large positive part of our experience lies in the freedom players have when kitting out their ships; since everyone is trying to optimise their ship for a different purpose, you are more likely to get ship parts and crew that scale well with one another, unlocking interesting combos. A prominent negative I can mention is that the frequent typos break immersion in the scenarios presented. An additional benefit is that this theoretically makes the two-player experience good. Competitively, the base board game depends so much on negotiation that the solo mode is an interesting negotiation-free puzzle and three players allow the game to shine, but the two-player experience is caught in an unsatisfactory limbo between the two. Cooperatively, this limbo space no longer exists and the players can work together on the puzzle presented. Finally, I want to mention the pleasing aesthetic of the game; I don't particularly remember the audio, which I'm sure was fine, but the artistic style shared with the base board game feels simultaneously retro, arcade-gamey, and futuristic with its pixelated appearance. EDIT: I have more recently played the game with four players and it stretched out too long. The duration of the game scales out of control based on the number of players. This should strictly be played with three or fewer players.
Its Great
a really unique and well executed take on a deck builder, highly enjoyed it!
A great way to play 2-player couch co-op with a friend. Keep the campaign variety going. Great music and atmosphere. I hope they continue to balance it as they add Intrepid, dark matter, star fall, and other future expansions.
a cool addition to the base game
Very well made game! Super fun 2 player experience! If you are more into the co-op style games then gear up for a really fun time. I can't wait to see what else IV does with this platform!
Easy to learn and fun way to spice up Moonrakers
Was expecting an actual game, requires the board game pieces to play this at all. for the effort put into this it could've been just a standalone game if they just put the cards and etc into the game. like slay the spire or etc.
