"Moo Moo Move" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Transfuzer in the UK, a development project that funds UK graduates to make games and build a studio. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. In this case we've got an admittedly charming and comical "casual" game about herding cattle, with a few obstacles of both mundane and extraterrestrial nature... I think they really did achieve what they set out to do, but somewhat imperfectly, as the game does lack polish, optimisation, and you'll very likely find yourself crashing to desktop due to some bugs that were never addressed and never will be. On the important subject of visuals, this features fairly low quality stylised/cartoony low poly 3D graphics. It comes across as the kind of thing you see on mobile phones and Nintendo games, which will deter a lot of PC gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and to be considered one of the best games on Steam, the graphics have to be some of the best on Steam. That's not happening here. In fairness they do the job, but this still isn't winning any awards for visuals. This game is fairly dated at 6 years old... it's showing a bit of age and won't give you a very up-to-date gaming experience. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $4 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. It's also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who paid money for this... nobody got refunded. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
Great game, really short though.
Took about 45 minutes to full complete every level, now I wouldnt normally take that against the game as its free but combined with the buggy physics, buggy achievements, and one song that plays through the whole entire game I just can't recommend it. The pros include; -Completely free to play -No paid DLC Cons include; -Bugs galore -Bland Soundtrack -Short game So from there i'll let you decide, I didn't personally enjoy it but I feel a child might.
Cute and rather fun lille game to just chill and enjoy. I would really recommend this to lille gem to all who enjoy cute games ^_^
Простенькая аркадная головоломка про ковбоя с коровами. Красочная рисовка, не сложный сюжет, сомнительное управление. Подходит для детей.
